Drivers race on a drag

On a road course, the Z will run away on the str8s and the s2k will be back on the bumper of the Z through the turns

In a drag, with ok drivers the z may edge the s2k out. But with a good driver in the s2k it should edge out. The s2000 is a hard car to drag with, not too many people can drive it well. But when some one comes along who can drive it properly it can be very quick. This is stricktly stock for stock, the z will respond better to mods than the s2k. But the s2k is definitly the better handler out of the two.

i saw this posted at an RX-8 forum...i, myself, have not seen the best motoring episode:

Just watched the video ms rx8 did real well, clock in 108'71 at the time trials only a hundreth slower than the 350z and s2k.

The grid:

1. RX-8 shinka limited addition
2. Nissan G35c
3. MS RX-8 ver. 2 (Running on potenzas, adjustable coilovers)
4. 350z 25th anniversary addition
5. S2000

Finished:

1. 350z
2. S2k
3. G35c
4. RX-8 shinka
5. MS RX-8

I would off too if they gave me 1000 bucks off list price...
non-negotiable pricing is honda's biggest flaw
=\
But then s2000 doesnt respond well to mods...
I dont know why "go fast mods" even would be considered for that car..
Japanese GT s2ks like SPOON or AMUSE is about sheding weight and attack the corners... bit like elise in that sense... You have to watch the TOUGE video with BOSS EVO 7 vs AMUSE s2000... EVO with 50% + HP and still got burnt because of handling...

Sorry about pro-s2000 talk

Very true again, ya it's hard for us to get good gains with bolt on's. If we pay the big bucks then we see decent gains. I know one guy that went with a custom exhaust and lost like 10 rwhp. But another guy spent about 2g's on a j's racing single exhaust and gained about 15 at the wheels. All in all both are fairly quick, good looking cars and great in diffrent area's of driving. But shhhh, dont let at any one at s2ki know I secretly think 350z's are great cars.

I dont know if you can just arbitrarily say the S2K is the winner on track...Ive seen articles where the Z beat the S2K and RX8 on a few roadcourses..Sometimes different tracks suit different cars...On a tight technical track I think the S2k may edge out the Z but its not a given...Both great cars and it comes down to driver on both the Drag Strip and Track in my opinion...Only track where the Z would probably dominate the other two is the ones with long straighaways....Question to me is, which one is the most pure sports car? The nod may go to the S2K for some and vice versa...The discussion continues...

+1 many people overrate the S2000's handling without knowing the facts. They figure a small roadster low to the ground made by Honda should be a great track car which it is not, its good not great. I too was guilty of this until one of my good buddies, who drives a Miata and a M5, pointed this fact out to me. He is a track fanatic, tracking his cars often. He subscribes to all the major car magazines and reads them all from cover to cover. Do some reading, the Z is just as good if not better then S2000 on the track.
