Gas gauge inaccuracy

So I decided to test and see how far I can go. Since I knew I could go at least 340 miles with 15 gallons, I did some simple math and figured I could go at least another 2 days with my gauge at E (it didn't even move). I ended up going 443.5 miles on 18.468 gallons and $77.00 and some change later, it was filled up and it was all freeway driving. I averaged 24MPG. my MPG average in the gauge said 25, but obviously it is wrong. What kind of MPG is everybody getting?

That's pretty accurate, the 350 tank is hard to accurately fill, hence calculating the usage isn't fully accurate.
There is also the fact the computer (I believe) bases usage off the wideband and the level gauges. My accuracy has gone off a little since my gauge got worse.
Cleaning soon.

Yeah, it's not faulty units guys, the problem's the gunk on the contacts.
Read this version of the cleaning guide from England, it actually shows how to confirm the individual contacts are clean enough.
Fuel is cleaner in the UK, but the problem still happens from time to time.

I fill up my tank (10 gallons) which is roughly about 45.00. I've been reading that you guys say you can fill up to 15 gallons or more? How so, is my tank special? Haha, anyways, whenever i fill up my tanks, my gauge reads empty all the time, moves every so often, and i get about 250 miles on every fill.

When my gas light turns on, I fill up and only 7 gallons goes in before the pump shuts off and the gauge acts like it's mostly full.
Based on reading all these threads on here, there's a good chance there's another 11 or so gallons always in there? I'm about to start autocross and would rather not have all that weight always in there so I'd like to confirm it.
Should I wait til the gas light comes on and keep driving? (and have a gallon in my trunk) or is there an easier way to prove if I still have gas in there?

Just about every time I fill up the pump cuts off way early. Today I went to fill up and I was on E. It put about 2 gallons in and then shut off and I had to keep squeezing the handle to keep the gas flowing and it would still periodically shut off. Can anyone help me understand this? It must be some sort of filler cutoff valve issue.

I've had all the problems in these posts and was researching it again but this time as it pertains to ANY car. Look for yourself, some of our gas tank problems are common autotive issues.
Has anyone here considered even though we do have a couple of unique design features and there is a TSB on one issue that the entire EVAP system needs to probably be investigated in detail going through the troubleshooting guidelines in the service manual? I'm wondering if I would find a plugged charcoal canister or any other common problems listed online or in the service manual.
That was my next goal but haven't had time. For the last 6 months I haven't been able to get a full tank again but it recently went away. I seem to have the below 1/2 tank the gauge doesn't work problem too most of the time.
Having both of those problems at the same time finally caused me to run out of gas one time this year. I was 4 miles away from the next exit. If I knew it would take 2 hours to get rescued I would have started walking to buy my own gas and walked back!
