Mercury Cougar looks like the 350z
I was behind a Cougar the other day at a stop light and was wondering where the back of that car look familar? Then i said , looks like the 350z. After looking more they both look to be the same size. Anyone have an idea on the size of the inside of these cars. I know that they wont compete for each others sales or performance, but i think they do kind of resemble another style and size wise.
headroom , shoulder room, leg room for both would be a good comparison.
Thanks.

I will say, when I saw one in person, I did think that they looked very similar in size. I do not know the dimensions, but it appeared to me that the Z was a little lower and wider.
I only looked inside for a second, but the interior appeared similar. Somebody else posted it was a little bigger feeling than the Audi TT, but otherwise similar.
Again, IMO the 350Z does not look like a bigger car than the 300ZX, despite its measurements.

This is an interesting observation, because I just drove miles about 100 feet behind a Cougar for a couple of miles, and the whole time I was thinking that it looked like an anorexic 350Z from behind.
The 350Z is a little more "hippy", as my wife would say, but from the back it certainly reminded me of the Z. Now once I got closer, the rest of it looks nothing like the Z, but that rear view was certainly familiar.

Another Coug owner
I am also a cougar owner, and I think the cars look similar, but the Cougar has a bit too big of an ***, and the Z shrinks it down to where it should be. I am hoping to graduate soon to the "true" sports car.
