Well if my bolts came out it probably would have been nice and fast, unfortunately the bottom bolt was just spinning inside the handle, and even after I cut away a slot for vice grips it still wouldn't budge... My good friend rust made a home and fused them together... Once I got the bolt for the lock out the whole handle came out... Then I used a massive pair of vice grips and an impact to get the 10mm bolt out...

This car never fails to be a pain in my ***.

Managed to get it done, wish the seal was a little better, had to play with the inside tab to get it so light didn't shine through... Hopefully water stays out... Doubtful but hopefully.

Bought some parts to begin the restoration process.....hey guys. Bought my '06 new 9 years ago and sold it in 2011. Saw it pop up on craigslist and bought it back last weekend with plans to keep it from here on...but the last 100K miles hasn't been too kind...apparantly the kid I sold it to didn't take as good care of it as I did. Ripped the front lip off, wore the interior quite a bit, broke silly things like the brake reservoir cover, suspension is totally shot (K-Sports after all )...It 'll take a little time and money to bring it back but it was my first new car, the one I took on my honeymoon, etc. so it has sentimental value going for it. Soon be time to pick up where I left off.

No pics yet but removed my timing chain cover, intake manifold and valve covers. Ordered new timing chain kit after an upper chain tensioner failed. Should have a much cleaner engine compartment after the repair.

Picked up some led-bulbs from Diode Dynamics and new carpets from Z1 and a few more goodies from Z1 that also arrived today.

Replaced the license plate bulbs, trunk and dome lights with the led-bulbs. Gonna switch out the city light bulbs for leds tomorrow.

I also took off my interior door handles and ripped off the door cards so I could take off the plastic pieces next to the door handles. Did that in the dark with only the flashlight on my phone. Im gonna sand and paint the interior bits to match the body.
Lots to do tomorrow!

Default Sad Day

I no longer have my baby.. Some guy ran a red light 2 weeks ago and hit me on the front drivers side. My insurance totaled my car and I no longer have my baby. Very sad situation.. My cousin is selling an 05 STI that I might get but I do not know much about those cars. Any feedback on those cars will be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
