Installed my nismo S tune muffler. I bought the muffler used without mid pipe. So I bought a used motordyne mid pipe and welded it up to the muffler. It's a little raspy so I'll add a vibrant resonator to cut that out. Very happy with the outcome.

Test fit the new wheels. Need to adjust the coilovers still a bit.

Noticed a little weirdness in my suspension under hard running last weekend. Thought it was just tire pressures. Nope...checked 'em cold day following. Dead on.

Took car in for alignment check. Pretty much within stock spec range but a little more negative camber (front AND back!) than I like. (And that, after thinking it wouldn't be affected too much when I installed my springs and shocks last year with only modest lowering and Bilsteins' usual ride height increase.) Feh.... first mistake in 30 years.

Back to the thread topic.... nothing to the car (yet) but ordered up F&R camber kits (SPC of course) today. Will report on them in a few weeks after installation, alignment and a couple days of coastal range road abuse.

Default Hypocrisy at its best!!

So ya, in a nod to my inner RICE (settle down, it's OK for me to say that owing to my own ethnic identity ), I affected a "fix" to my car that should elicit shaking heads and many "Psh!"es from the forum. Heh heh.

Historical musing: Couple months ago, while polishing my car, I somehow knocked the "3" off the "3-5-0-Z" logo on the rear decklid. Then, as if on cue, the "5" hopped off in sympathy as well. So I did the logical (??) thing and ripped off the "0" and the "Z" cuz it looked stupid reading "OZ".

I polished the ghosting on the decklid as best as I could (didn't do the trick) then in a fit of "I can do this myself!" rage, I hit the area with 2000 grit wetsand.

Ooooops.

Not a good idea. Sanded right through the paint!!

Oh well. Lived with it like that until the other day. Hit it with polish again and took out all the excess scuffing but left the little spot of primer showing.

Covered it up with this (where's that embarrassed smiley when I need one??):

Sad. Not a Nismo 350. Not a single Nismo part on the car. Not even proper script/font for genuine Nismo. Rice.

I console myself with the fact that we have the genuine thing (my wife's car, "Nemo", in our garage so WTH.... $7 EBay fix works for me regardless what others are saying about me when they're behind at a light.... "Poseur!!"

Installed some aluminum non-base pedals. Slowly trying to turn this thing into an Enthusiast/ GT hybrid. Cruise control coming soon, would also like to wire up the factory stereo controls to an Android head unit. We'll see how that goes. LSD to come!

Before:

After:

I don't know if the install was QUITE as bad as everyone made it out to be. I didn't soak the pedals or use WD40 and it probably took me around an hour start to finish.

I won't lie, the clutch and brake were a ***** and you're in an awkward position, but a stubby flathead screwdriver and cussing did the trick!

You could always just put the 350Z back on? I did mine recently and figured, well if this goes awry I'll just slap it back on and no one will know. Hehe. Or is it scratched in such a way that the original letters don't cover the damage?

Replaced my slave cylinder last week, going to replace my master and add a braided clutch line as well as put redline mt85 in her. Shifts should be silky smooth then. Here is how my z looks currently.
