Default Scraping bottom of car..

So I just moved into a new apartment building with a parking garage that has a rather steep ramp, and no matter what I do everytime I enter/exit it scraps the bottom of my car as I go over the hump ( Im inchin my way over it) is this gonna F**** anything up underneath or am I just scraping a metal plate underneath?

On a side note, maybe its related, my rear tire EXPLODED last night on I5 at 60mph, it was so loud it hurt my ears and melted parts of the metal shrouding in the wheel well, I was lucky but the Z didn't flip it..just a slight tug and I was able to pull over no problems it sucked tho..

jack up the car, and look for the wear/contact marks........what exactly are you scrapping and we can maybe help answer you, or it may be apparent to you as okay or not...

are you lowered at all? are you going at angles to avoid scraping? are you cats getting beat to all hell? might eventually cause a problem for you.

Thanks man, I cant tell what its scraping as I go over but its pretty bad and its ridiculous they made the ramp so steep to get into the garage, my Z isn't even lowered or anything just stock. I didn't know if the Z had a built in 'scrape plate' underneath or something.

Yea I tried different angles within the confines of the entrance/gate and its unavoidable they did a good job making it that steep..morons! Luckily, I dont own any cats..

It is probably scraping the underside of the front bumper as that is the low point, especially when heading down a steep ramp. About the only solution is backing down but I know that is not very practical. Don't think the problems are related though - never heard of a tire just exploding, more than likely ran over something sharp enough to puncture it and then anything can happen. Glad you are safe.

There are two common areas that scrape. The metal braiding around the exhaust piping where it meets your Cats. The other part is a metal frame bracket where your fuel lines cross on top of. The fuels lines are protected by the bracket. That's where I've scraped. I've looked under and seen it. Nothing worth getting worked up about, but I'm sure it'll eventually wear out...

Jack it up, it can be something silly. For me, I had a stud on the frame that was sticking out too far. I cut it off and I havnt bottomed out since.

Either get an air hammer to break up the hump, pour concrete on both sides to even it out.....or move.

Can you get pics of the areas rubbing???

I had to move my mailbox and rip out two bushes to get into my driveway. it is sooo steep and if i had the z prior to the house i wouldn't live in this house!
But do what you have to do. That's why the z is so special, it bucks the laws of the physical world.

Its like a steep ramp going from street level into the parking garage of the apartment it'd be impossible to back into with people coming and going in this case it doesn't matter which direction I go, inching forward it always scrapes and it sounds like its from the rear of the car. I might just end up canceling my parking spot bcus I cant see it doin any good.
From the tire blow out it must have been so violent it pushed out the body work from the panel, tore outward some metal from the wheel well and melted it I think..damn. Given all that the Z hardly gave me a twitch and I was able to pull over safely from 60.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.I've had my Z for a year and it was lowered about 6 months ago and it always scrapes. When we jacked it up last week to put an exhaust on my friends and I were surprised that despite the horrible noises we've heard come from the car,it all looked like nothing had ever happened.
The noises are worse than the actual damage.
