I would be on the list. At least 45 overall and around 15 for the older models.
These are the best times out of how many runs. Ok now speaking truthfully
how can you know for sure if they are stock you didnt personally see each
one. In person how many times have you confirmed this and if I am slow how
does that put me around 15th place in the older models. Out of say 10 1/4 mile
runs compared to what around a 100 runs each to get these times. they are probably
not stock anyways.

I had a 5AT g35 coupe. it was fun, but seriously not as much as my 6MT 350z.
the automatic would be acceptable if it had peddle shift, and at least 6 gears..
gear ratio is much better on the 6mt, and of course, oil consumption.

When my Z was an Auto I had put APS TT kit on it with a valve body upgraded. It was an absolute blast. Once you learned when to shift, how much gas to give, etc. you would have so much fun.
You were never out of boost, you never missed gears, and in stop and go traffic, it was extremely nice. Just always had to worry about it overheating while at the track, but that's what gauges and coolers are for.
At 400rwhp, it was awesome. However, I have since swapped it for bigger power. But if you like it, then who cares.

Sometimes I like the automatic, i mean its tremendously helpful in stop and go traffic, but my left foot is bored, and twinges up and applies a lot of pressure into the foot rest

You're right, the automatic is the better one. 114,000 miles
later I dont think the bolt on the dipstick was ever removed.
Took it off, checked the fluid still full to the top, color still
looks good.
Uh Oh, what I do?
sorry let me just mozy on outta here.

I find that the auto 350z is comfortable and reliable. Even in manual mode it's a blast to drive but yes there is a delay. If you are a true 350z enthusiast, you'll enjoy the car whether AT or MT.

I bought my 2003 Touring edition because it contained the main criteria I was considering when purchasing a new vehicle (not necessarily a 350):
Well-kept
Leather seats
Decent mileage
I fell in love with my AT the moment I saw her. I knew beforehand I was going to look at an Auto, but didn't let it affect my initial opinion. I didn't buy the car to track it or street race. I'm 24 years old, single, and wanted a sexy daily driver to get me to and from work each day and cruise around on the weekends.
Prior to this I was driving a 2003 Mustang V6 Convertible I was given for my 16th birthday. I trashed it through my college years (mainly due to the fact that it had been keyed/smashed into and I used the insurance checks to pay for school instead). I used to tell everyone when I was finished with school and got a big boy job, I was going to get a nice vehicle.
So I did.
Only problem thus far is my front left wheel well cover has come dislodged and will need to be replaced. Gonna set me back about $60 and an hour or two's time. Am replacing the brakes anyways, so it's not a big deal.
If the Transmission decision is a huge deal to you (simply from an observer's perspective) get dark tint. Let people assume...

I enjoy mine. I take it on the occasional track days and its just as fun as the SMG E46 M3 I had and more fun than my 2003 911. That could be because my Z is modified and I'm not Michael Schumacher in my 911. Driving a manual is something anyone can learn but to drive it well is something of an art that needs special consideration.
What you should do, OP is get the manual if you want it. Then ease your wife into learning how to drive a manual. She'll fight you on it as mine still does but she's learning.
EDIT: Damnit. Didn't see how ancient the thread was :|

My wife can't drive a MT so we bought our G in the 7 at. Then I started looking at 370Z's for myself and test drove many of the 6mts (one for a couple of days) and I really didn't like them and I missed the paddles shifters. So I test drove the 7at and I just really like it better. For those who say you are disconnected never learned to use the paddles. Once you have those down you are very connected to the car. It's nice to shift the car but there are times it just nice to let the car shift it's self. I love the 7at with the paddles and do not in the slightest regret not getting a 6mt.

As far as the Auto is concerned with the 350Z/ 370Z it is amazing I have owned both the 5AT and 7AT and they where great, that being said I think the response of the 7AT is just as quick if not quicker than your better than average person driving a MT.
Plus for the people who think getting a AT in a sports car is a waste of time, just look at all of the high end cars that are now going with DCT and other fancy Autotrans.
