That was rude. I've reported your post.
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted". While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context. For example, mass media uses troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[4][5]

Thanks for your replies.
I can barely get anywhere in any amount of time when going through all the gears. Tons of shifting! Plus going 1/2/3 goes so slow, and i feel like the guy behind me is going to ram me....

Did you know that the Z gets better gas mileage when cruising at 3000rpm vs 1500? Shift those gears. More load = worse gas mileage.

From a dead stop I start in first. For a rolling stop (come on, we all do it) I just drop to second.
As for the rest of the gears, I don't cruise at more than ~2500 RPM so if I am over that, I shift. It's all just common sense.
EDIT: Ignore what I said. I didn't read the second page before posting. This thread is clearly not about shifting anymore. Flame on!

why would you start in second????
From a dead stop you are supposed to use first gear. It is designed to get the car moving since it takes on alot of load. I can't believe you would even ask a question like this!!

Why isn't 5th or 6th gear an option in the poll?? Sometimes I get mad at my car and start off in 5th to hurt it. Gotta smack a ***** every now and then right??

Had to drive my SUV today to haul a guitar to FedEx. Driving an automatic sucks. I typically just go through all the gears. If you feel like shifting through 1-3 is so slow someone is going to ram you from behind, give it more gas and learn to shift faster. It's easy to pull away in a Z (though I have an '05 with 300hp and HR engine).
