Would a Nissan 350Z be good as my first car ?
So I'm gonna get a car. I've never actually owned one before; I used to drive a Mercedes C230, and that's it.
When it comes to aspect, the Nissan 350Z is my favorite car. I love it but I don't know much about technicalities. I'm also not very experienced with cars, so if someone could give me details, advice or suggestions, please do.
Also, my budget is around 10,000$, 12k at most, so I'm wondering what chances do I have in getting one ?
Thanks in advance.

The 350Z is a reliable car, however I am not sure I would choose it for my first car (personally). You can find a decent one for about $10-12k if you look around.

If you drive it with respect, then yes it would be an excellent car as any other car. But $12,000, it would have to be one with 90,000 mi or more on it, I would think. But there's lots out there, just check around on the website. If you were in Calif. then you could get some good deals, i.e. 350Z Track Model, modded (s/c, and all the extras with it), complete maintenance records, garage kept and car covered with under $20,000 miles on it for $15,000. But that's on the other side of the country. Florida should have some also, check the newspapers. Do read the section mentioned above post #9, but don't let that or anybody else scare you away from what you want or desire. Good Luck on finding yourself the car you want.

I would have loved to have a 350z (or 300z at the time) as my first car; though, if i were allowed to get one then i'd surely be dead right now. I did so much stupid crap when i was a kid. Heck, i almost killed myself with irresponsible driving even with just a Ford Tempo :P
The Z is plenty safe and reliable, but it's a bit too fast for an unseasoned driver. (I'm going based on the assumption that you're young). If i were your parents then i'd prefer you to have something with less than 200 hp.

It's funny to read everyone's response, "Get a twin turbo'd one" "You will die". It's just a car and it might go fast, but if his parents haven't educated him and taught him as a parent should, then yeah he will probably get it and go 100 on a school zone; kill others and perhaps himself. If we couldn't get one when we were 17 that's life, hell if my parents would of said hey son we have decided to buy you a 300zx I don't think I would of said no father that car is too fast for me, I'm sorry, but you have to buy me a prism.

Should be fine, it has the same engine as the quest minivan, therefore you won't kill yourself in a panty-dropping +300hp two-seater as your first car. It's also just as practical as the Quest.
In all honesty, now looking at it on paper, the quest and the Z look very similar! Why not just get the Quest? I bet it's cheaper!
jkjk
In all honesty, get a manual is my only advice. And please for the love of God, realize that you are human, are very easily death-able, and don't do crazy things. Track it on a track, not your neighborhood. Life isn't F&F. Is this your daily driver?
Just fyi about sports cars as first cars, the category of drivers with the highest death rate is under-20-year-olds with evo's as their first car...

Judging by the majority of the people that responded to my post, I don't even want one anymore. If that's how 350Z drivers are, I don't want to become one of them. I was really just asking about info. I was NOT asking "how many kids will I kill on a 20 mph school zone?"
But for the ones that did try to help me, thank you very much.
