I am utterly speechless after reading this thread.

I feel for you guys...I really do.

Too bad Summit Racing caters only to domestics....when I had a supercharged GTA, they were my go-to source and always came through...even when a crate motor from them died due to an installer error.

Wow!!!! You got taken for a ride for sure!

If I was you I would demand free **** like those urethane transmission, urethane motor mounts, upgraded hatch struts, and anything else they make, in return for that free 2 year loan that you gave him. I hope your getting a 15% interest rate on that money by the way....

Since he's a site sponsor, that's up to IB - not the moderation team. They have been made aware of this thread and I believe that they have spoken to Adam about the situation. However, if any of you would like to contact IB directly about this, you can find their contact info here: http://www.internetbrands.com/ib/contact

Also, several folks have alleged that there may have been criminal intent in some of their dealings. I'm no lawyer, so I would suggest that you contact some of the following if you feel it is appropriate. I'm sure any of these groups can assess the situation accurately and point you in the right direction since they deal with this stuff every day:

United States Department of Justice - Computer Crimes
The primary federal law enforcement agencies that investigate domestic crime on the Internet include: the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Secret Service, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) , the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) . Each of these agencies has offices conveniently located in every state to which crimes may be reported. Contact information regarding these local offices may be found in local telephone directories. In general, federal crime may be reported to the local office of an appropriate law enforcement agency by a telephone call and by requesting the "Duty Complaint Agent.

The task force uses the latest in high-tech equipment to deter, detect and respond to criminal threats.
Investigations conducted by the U.S. Secret Service through the ECTFs include crimes such as:

The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, collects complaints about companies, business practices, identity theft, and episodes of violence in the media. The FTC enters all complaints it receives into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database that is used by thousands of civil and criminal law enforcement authorities worldwide. The FTC does not resolve individual consumer complaints.

Default Good luck

I've heard that before. But I heard from Adam today too in a fashion. I got a spam email newsletter from Z1 for the first time advertising sale items! Coincidence or Adams way of saying he doesn't care what gets said here because he markets direct now instead of on forums like this? I found 2 other forums with scandals like this surrounding Z1 and I think this is the only forum he still sponsors.

Who knows?

The good:

Adam has always been a positively contributing member of the community. He`s been one of the most helpful members of the forum in my early steps into being more active in motorsports. As far as my past track record with Z1 I`ve had good experiences dating back to 2007.

The Bad.

Part delays, substitutions, and waiting are part of the game so I was not too upset by this. I got what I needed in the end, before it was too late.

The Ugly.

I found the handling of my over charges to my credit card very unusual. Feb 9th I paid for an item. Charged again on March 4th. This March 4th charge originally showed up as from another website, stripe.com. Visa flagged this as fraudulant immediately and my card was shut down. After a couple days of investigation it was determined it was a charge from Z1. A duplicate of what I had paid earlier. Adam was notified of this and of course I was assured a refund. Just another strange incidence in a string of strange incidences.

But the refund never showed up. Always just an assurance I was already refunded and it would be on my statement anyday. I`m very patient. In early April when it still wasn`t on my statement I pressed for details. WHat day. To what card number. At first these questions weren`t answered directly. Eventually I got a date of March 21st to my card number. The refund eventually showed up in late April. `

But I didn`t confirm if it was a result of a refund from Z1 at that time, or was it a result of the Visa dispute I had initiated back in early March.

Anyways. I got all my parts. I got my money back. I hope everyone gets their money back that wants it in a timely manner. And I hope whatever troubles Adam is experiencing right now that are leading to these recent inconsistancies are resolved too.

Edit: Clarified today. Adam refunded me. Not through VISA action.

Default Z1 Performance, Z1 Auto, ADAM

Hi,

Ok, i am a newbie and it is my first message on the forum but please, read it before you decide to bann me.

My name is Hubert and I’m French.
I drive a WRX STI 7

I’d like to tell you my misadventure with a well known US seller : Z1 Performance = Z1 Auto

On september, 2010, 2 of my friends and me have ordered 3 set of coilovers at Z1 Performance for a value of $ 9.0000.
We waited our order until march, 2011 and always nothing from Z1 Performance. (always a missing part : springs, upper mount, etc …).
At the end of march, we ask him to cancel our order and to get us back our money : he accepted it on March, 23th.

Since this time, always no money !!!!
He tried several time :
- to make a wire from his bank but always a problem
- to make a transfer with Western Union and you know what ? It’s very funny … also a problem, it doesn’t work ….
- He sent us a check payment but it was ua rubber one

So, more than 19 months (near 2 YEARS !!!) that we paid Z1 Performance - $ 9.000 – and at this meantime : no parts of course and no money.

You can easily understand that we are fed up and bored by this seller.
For the moment, we have lost $ 9.000.
This seller is dishonest, a liar and a swindler.

So, don’t order him parts !!!!!!

If one day, I don’t believe it, we get back our money, I will tell you, cancel this and tell you that Z1 Performance is a serious and and honest seller ….. but for the moment :

DON’T ORDER HIM PARTS, Z1 PERFORMANCE IS A SWINDLER.

If you don't beleive me, you can read on NASIOC ans IWSTI, Z1 Performance answer me and recognize it is true :

It seems the foreign guys are the ones getting taken.

Seen it before where vendors take money from new orders to fulfill old orders.......it is a cuthroat business where everyone wants the lowest price shipped to door and these shops are making very little margin. Eventually it catches up with them and this happens.

Check this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...o-in-ny-8.html

This thread will more than likely get locked so post here, you'll be added to a list to how many people are either having problems or had problems.

Tread lightly though, Mods are tired of dealing with this crap and there's good info on the thread I referred you to if you wish to do something outside MY350z.com.

Good luck.

You may also need a local attorney to file a civil case.

I've successfully sued Progressive Insurance, American Home Shield, DELL and a private contractor that performed shoddy work. I can help you in some respect with the paperwork but the sad truth is, it will cost you just to recover your own money.
