How much did you pay for your used Z?

Well OP, thats pretty awesome salvage or not.
I didnt read every post so I dont know if it is a salvage.
I really dont have a problem with a salvage if your gonna keep the car and you can confirm what was wrong and how it was repaired.
Anyway Great deal, best I have heard of really.
I just got what I think is a sweet deal.
I wanted the HR engine so it had to be an 07 or newer for me.
I bought a 2007 I think it is the enthusiast coupe, not positive, I paid 13k$ cash, and it has 36442 miles, near perfect body and interior, runs like a dream and you can eat off the engine.
It needs two tires and has a slight tiny bit of curb rash on the passenger side rims, otherwise it is mint.

After reading this thread it is crazy the differences in prices.
If your financing, your getting raped, if your buying from a dealer your getting raped, if you dont shop carefully you can literally pay thousands more than you need to, I looked at so many cars, even considered all cars in the nation, I was ready to fly to Texas, Miami, Virginia, Delaware, etc..
Looked at salvages looked at rebuilt, then I narrowed it to had to be a 6 speed manual, 07 or newer and that really cleared the field and left only about 8 cars eligible, then looked at the costs of getting them back here and they priced themselves right out.
In the end I had three cars within 120 miles of my house, that had everything I wanted and were under 15k$, then I went to look at the final three and made a deal.
When I told the guy, I have one more to go look at and I will let you know without even asking him about a test drive, his stomach knotted up, he knew he was hit and so he dropped his pants and bent over, lol gave me a huuuge discount and dropped his price.
I no longer had to go look at the other car, my mind was made up right then, seeing his was the one I wanted but I didnt think he would budge on the price being he had no reason too, low miles, mint in and out, rare color I like, etc.. I never would have thought he would just fold.
from 15k to 13k in minutes.
Anyway great thread for a potential buyer to read and pay attention to the dates on some of the posts.
The market changes every month so what is a good deal today was un heard of 1 year ago, and next year these 08's will be cheaper too.
If your in the market, bring cash, know what your looking at, know what you want, and dont compromise, its your toy, never compromise.
To see a guy pay $18 to $20k for an 07 or older is nuts, you can do a lot better.

So this is how it went down,
I had a bone stock 2008 automatic Rebuilt Scion tc with 83,xxx miles and I found this guy on CL selling his 2006 clean title base model 350z for $8000. I offered him my tC plus $2K on top and the man accepted. 350z came with double din HU, Exhaust, 6MT, lowered on springs, carbon fibre interior accects and some extras.
Worth it IMO

03 enthusiast 19k miles
picked up an 03 with 19k miles for: $12,500 in IL. Ad on autotrader had 1 pic low quality/awful phone pic, but was minty, 1 owner verified no accidents/dents/scrapes or curb-rash, came w polished enth. model wheels and grey/black interior. cs color
got lucky, drives tighter than any z i've driven but now have to fix 03 flaws (i.e. front upper control arm, 1 window motor left to replace, end-links, etc.) plus fluids, tires (beginning to feather), etc. Just put new brakes, jwt pop charger, z1 test pipes (and passed emissions).

Hey I'm new to the forum.. I recently acquired a 08 Grand Touring w/ 47k for 17,8k at Carmax.. looked for a while until I found exactly what I wanted. Had to pay $300 for them to transport the car from MD to NC but it was money well spent once I saw the car. I have had it for a month and has been a joy to drive ever since. I do have to say that I worked at Toyota for a while in their paint dept, that being said I am kinda put off by the quality of the paint on the car. For the price of the car you would think the tolerance for paint defects would be tight but it would seem thats not the case. I have found so many defects, paint seeds, craters, sub craters, base coat runs etc on my car.. but it still doesnt take away from the beauty of my car in motion. I love it and thats all that matters.

Listen to this.
I bought a 2003 350z to fix & flip, I got it for $6500.00 because of a couple
of large dents and a knocking in the engine. 89K miles.
They sell around here for 11K.
I do body work so the dents meant nothing to me but the knock
really sounded like a timing chain.
When I tore it all the way down for the chain replacement
I found a mechanics rag in the oil pan wrapped around the oil pick-up.
Someone left a large rag in the oil pan!
After seeing the chain and everything was fine I put it back
together replacing nothing and it runs fine-no knock.
It is sweet running Z, in really good shape.

Thanks man, I just brought her home tonight and drove her foe the first time today!! WOOT
Car is sweet!!
A couple new pics, tomorrow at 8 am she gets new rubber and amsoil.
safe at home and next to a 370 I found at Dunkin on my way home.
The guy I bought the car from was supposed to park it a month ago when I paid him a deposit per our agreement, instead he put 1850 miles on it, added a small chip in the rear bumper and a tiny ding in the passenger door!!
I was pissed but wasnt a lot I could do other than pull out and lose my 2k$ until I beat it back out of him in court, I said screw it it is still a fantastic dealf or 13k$ and runs like a dream, I love her and I dont even know her yet.

07 Touring - 79K - 6MT - Rays V2 Wheels - Immaculate inside/out
$16,800 WA
It was more then I wanted to pay but this guy was super meticulous about it and a clean platform to build on was worth the extra 2k. It had been under a cover in his garage for 2 years because he blew out his hip and couldn't drive it anymore.

Bought an 07 Enthusiast, in 2010 with 41k on the odometer. Nearly perfect car, driven by an older lady, with just a slight scratch on 1 rim from a minor curbing. No dings, damage, etc. Plus, something she didn;t know, it had factory Nismo S-tune Exhaust that the dealer had ordered.
Paid $16,500
