Why is the 350z becoming a civic, rather than a Supra?

I was really disappointed to see a 2008 350Z Roadster with automatic and navigation and only 31K miles at the local dealership for only $22,500. That seems really low.
The AutoCheck indicates it's a one owner with no bad history, but it's been auctioned twice in the last six months.
I'm glad I only paid $27K for my new '08 touring coupe in July '09.

you know what the S2000 is turning into a rice car too. that was a limited production car. i've seen S2ks all riced out. the kids turn them into drag cars and find out that the diff is the weak spot. anyways the Z has history and just because the young crowd rices them out the older crowd loves them cause of the history.

It's not even just a regular Z that's getting chopped up and modified with crap parts, but even the odd Nismo is turning up poorly modified.
It's going to get worse before it gets better as far as the amount of people out there buying these cars cheap and modifying for even cheaper! Sadly our Z's won't ever be as valued as an NSX or Supra.
On the plus side! for those of us who go the smart route and respect/cherrish our Z in time the careless owners will destroy their Z's in turn making our's grow in value...
Or so i hope!

it is slowly becoming very similar.
when you see that threads about showin' off replica wheels or body kits with views 2x or 3x those thread of authentic parts, you know its over.
oh well.
those that have standards will still build quality cars. at least now the platform will be easier to attain as the the chassis resell value becomes laughable.

I dunno...my opinion why its becoming the new Civic is because its one of the first REAL (modern too) sportscar, RWD, decent power stock (compared to anything out there stock), mass produced to make parts easily available for a low price. 10 years ago the Civic was the Civic. Now for Civic prices you get a 300HP RWD sportscar. Chalk it up to environment and evolution.
