I like how this thread went from a car discussion to personal attacks.

This thread is frickin hilarious. Its the same car, except one is a convertible. You got problems if you buy a vert to impress the ladies, and even bigger problems if you don't because it looks homosexual. At the end of the day, yes it is uglier (opinion,) and yes it is prone to more mechanical issues, but if you buy a vert it should be for the top down driving experience. Period. As an owner of a vert, I bought it because I really enjoyed dropping the top on nice days and enjoying the experience driving with an open roof. That said, as time goes by I find my priorities changing. I'm enjoying tracking my car ALOT, and the top down novelty is wearing off. The problem with the vert is not its performance. I've found It actually can hang with the coupes on a track for the most part. The problem is that there are too many restrictions with tracking a vert. This is the main reason I am thinking of switching to a coupe.
Performance wise, your not losing a whole lot. IMO its very likeky the difference will be greater from revision to revision (ie DE vs HR) than coupe to vert. Check the attached link to compare coupe vs vert on a track. Granted it is all subject to driver ability, and I think tracks with long high speed straights will spread the gap a little more between verts and coupes.
My vert is alot less modded than most of these coupes, and I'm by no means an excellent driver. This is my second real track day experience.

[QUOTE=Ms.350zQueen;9879087]Well my thread has become quite popular haha now lets not argue or fight about things! I just want peoples opinion and how they feel about the differences!
But isn't the structure of the convertible a lot different from the coupe? or is that not true?
But i have test drove a convertible before and it seemed kinda shaking but I don't know if that was just me or the car or what.

Want to answer this question before it is closed. There are some slight difference in the structure between the coupe and the vert. When I toured the Nissan factory where they made the Z's, they showed us what is under the cover. It's too bad pics were not allowed during the tour. As you can see in the pics I found on the internet, the roll bar in the vert is welded to the chassis to compensate for the lack of roof, which the couple does not have. I also remember seeing a triangle brace added to the vert which I cannot find a pic of.
As an opinion, some of the vert owners who experienced the vert and love it (myself included), while some may not care. I also see opinions from those who have not had any vert driving/owning experience yet, not sure how they can knock it before knowing.

Thank you for answering my question, okay so all in all the structure is pretty much the same just minus the roof!
