i havent owned a jeep myself but my brother has had quite a few of them and i work at a dealership and price parts out for them all the time because they always have issues. also the v8 jeeps dont get any worse gas mileage than the 6 cylinders because they dont have as much power to push the weight

Go to any dealership and they will always be pricing parts. Work at a Chrysler dealership? TA DA - you always price Chrysler parts. What a novel thought.

Looking at CL in washington I came up with this> http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...805141329.html
Which lead's to this>http://www.caspianautomotors.com/inv...250&curpage=1#
And their inventory doesn't show the car listed....Bait/Switch

Final Thoughts
Ok to clear some things up, the title of the Jeep is in my dads name and I won't know if I got the job until Saturday. If I can negotiate a decent trade with the owner of the 350z, receive the car + the $2k difference, and get the job, will that be enough to have in case of a break down? My uncle is also paying me $500 to give a testimonial for his new product. So initially, I will have $2,500. And if I do get the job, I can propose a deal with my dad to pay for my own gas and half of the insurance. Two final questions. How much would it cost to paint the stock rims black with PlastiDip? Lastly, for those of you who have a 350z, do you prefer the way it drives over any other cars you've previously driven?
Thanks everyone for the replies for they've been extremely valuable!

Not many pics on that listing tbh, Did you see the car in person, hear how it sounds? Ask for and a vin # look it up should help you a bit. As of right now the car is listed at $9500 throw an offer of trade + $3500 cash back depending on the car and wear tear. Have him list it as a "gift" when you buy the car so registering it wont take away from your savings vise verse. Word of advise play with money you actually have not future "investments" don't wanna be in debt at a young age lol Leave the car stock when you get it, get a feel for it first make sure its the look you want...Just be safe bro and good luck

IDK why so many people think Jeeps are terribly unreliable. I had a Wrangler and loved it. It is actually the one vehicle I regret selling. I sold it with 140k miles and never had a major issue. Granted, it was just like my Z, it didn't stay stock for very long. Lift, axle swaps, gears, lockers, tires, winch...etc. It never left me stranded, and I wheeled it pretty hard as well as used it as my daily. Also, since I built the Jeep and now I'm almost "done" with my Z build, I can say that parts are really fairly similarly priced. And the jeep had a lot more room to work on stuff when compared to my Z.

convince dad first. worry about aftermarket parts once you are on your own (buying your own gas, paying your own insurance in full).
Look at this from this point of view.
Random Guy (not you) says - "Hey, I am gonna buy me a awesome set of aftermarket wheels" or whatever other part
then in the next sentence...
"Dad, can I have some money for gas?"
that just dont make no sense.

Look man ima be nice for once and just say this isnt your time for a Z or any expensive sports car for that matter, what you need to do is finish school, keep riding that jeep for as long as you can and when the time is right you will get another car. I can promise you right now this car will put you in a terrible financial burden if your not working or dont know how to manage your money, while i respect your ambition, i cant respect this decision to buy this car with your dad picking up most of the cost. Save up like the rest of the young guys on here and spend your life savings on it.

@stuartc323 My Jeep is currently worth more than the Z i'm potentially trading for. I wouldn't be buying anything. In fact, I'd be receiving $2k.

I won't be putting my dad into debt. Since I turn 18 in less than a year I will be paying for everything but the insurance if I get the job.
