Help. Looking at buying a 06 350z with 08 hr motor
Hi, I am looking into buying a 06 350z with 50k miles on the body. But there is only 35k on the 08 motor. Should I be worried about this purchase? Also, what should I be looking for when I go to look at this vehicle?

Interesting , post pics of the build.

It's hard to believe a person would do that unless the first engine was trashed, and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the car. Of course, it could have been done to resolve an oil consumption issue, but it still seems extreme.

According to everything I've read on the de to hr swap, it's way too expensive and not monetarily worth it. I thought it hasn't been done! I'd like to see pics as well

Hi, thanks for the fast responses. The guy claims the car got the new motor from a recall. I guess when i look at it today i will look at the paper work to make sure it was what he said.

Ok, thanks for the fast responses everyone. I will still go look at the car, but i will definitely do more research into what he has done to it before i purchase. I will also definitely have a Nissan mechanic look into it.

To my knowledge (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) there was never a recall that required Nissan to swap a newer HR engine in place of a RevUp... They would have to replace the engine, engine crossmember, hood, ecu, wiring harness, etc. etc. RevUp's do have a oil consumption issue sometimes but that is easily remedied by proper maintenance...
Again. Run away.
Please just find a solid used 07-08 HR.

pop the hood and see if it has dual intakes...he may be lying or assuming it's an 08 engine since the oil consumption issue recall may have been address in 2008.
