Simple performace upgrades beginners can do themselves???
Hey guys,
Im wondering if any of you 350z owners experts out there know anything for a beginner like myself, can do any easy performance upgrades to my z myself. Its a 2006 z touring convertible. I didn't want to do anything crazy to it because I'm not that experienced with doing major things to cars yet. What are some recommendations from you guys? What performance upgrades would give me a good start for my car to start kicking extra power while at the same time it gives me a hands on learning experience on my car?...Thanks

This question is highly dependent on what you consider beginner; what is the most you've done in the past that you are confident enough to do again? Also do not expect really anything easy to actually kick up your power by a lot.

get adjustable control arms and give your self hella negitive camber, good for 50+hp depending on the angle of camber, the more negative the more hp!!, then get a spoiler so you fly, and take off the brakes cause if your going fast why stop? and why not get rid of the extra weight them things are heavy as sh**
^^ thats exactly what im talking about except with a spoiler!!!
also get clamp on muffler tips to increase airflow and sound!!! each stickers roughly 10 hp!!
black out your headlights and taillights as dark as you can, thats 50 more hp
get hood scoops, quater panel scoops, the more drag the better!!! when combined with the spoiler youll fly like a F16!!!
search button gives knowledge which leads to more horsepower than all of those things.
best mod YOU could make is driver exp.

I see...I was thinking about lighter wheels but I like the wheels that it came with..I didn't want to do much on the outside that it would affect its appearance because I love the way it looks as stock. I worry about whats inside the z...but I will think about exhaust parts and Plenum spacer. ill look into that more ....I actually started thinking about doing an cold air intake as well? what do u think about that one? Which ones from your experience does a decent job in increasing power..Dont worry I don't expect it to take off like a lambo with just that upgrade. I'm realistic. Just wanted something that would make a small difference when I drive it.

leave the stock airbox alone.... hfc's, exhaust, plenum spacer, tune is about all you can do without tearing into the motor... change the spark plugs (sometimes the simplest things make a big difference), change trans and rear diff fluid, and run full synthetic muffler bearing grease

Any bolt ons will need a tune to notice a difference. So keep that in mind when budgeting.

I saw a nub thread and was going to start on my antics. But I felt bad and tried being helpful.
