Default Experiences with used OEM window motor

My drivers side window motor on my 2004 has been out for about 3 months now. I've come across someone parting out their Z and selling their used OEM one from a 2005 for $50. My biggest concern is it going out again though because I've read that the earlier models had issues regarding the motors going out.

There are no new aftermarket motors that I know of. So you take a chance on the $50 motor or buy a rebuilt one at the store with a lifetime warranty. I don't think there were ever any OEM revisions that I've heard of either so there is no old vs. new - it's plain choice of trying to be a little cheaper now vs. getting a warranty. And like the other response said you don't know what you are getting. That salvaged motor may be ready for the rebuild pile too or soon...
I'd get the part store motor myself.

yeah you're right, great advice right here. the ones online offer a 1 year warranty. I will choose that route instead.

I said LIFETIME.
Go to Autozone, Oreilly etc. you should be getting a lifetime warranty, no less!

I see on http://www.rockauto.com/ there is a difference between the drivers and passenger side. I didn't dig into the warranty

For the price difference I'd go new. If the used one is original. I say the chances are over 50/50 it will go out.

Good luck.

For the labor involved in replacing, go with the best new one you can find - which is OEM even if they have a bad history.

Buy a new revised oem motor.

I got one for $170 it has never stoped working like the craps old one.

And cardone makes **** parts I would not even bother buying one to save $$.

I enjoyed replacing the motor once a year for about three years. Then it gets old. Buy a new motor for $170. The used ones crap out again, way faster than what is acceptable.
