Default Looking to buy 03 350z

I'm 17 and going to college soon, I currently own a 04 gti with 85k with many upgrades. I recently posted it on craigslist as a feeler for trades and was offered an 03 350z with 85k. It has an upgraded fuel pump, exhaust, and intake. I would like to know any feedback I can get on whether I should trade or not. And any problems these cars face, I know nothing about the Nissan seen other than that they seem to be a lot more reliable than my vw. Any info is appreciated, thank you.

my advice to you is drive the car and not 2-5 miles and think it is good to go, i just bought my car and literally went for over an hour drive in it with my mechanic. we did city, highway, back *** roads, you name it. shift gears normally, hard, etc. listened for any bump clunk grind, etc. took it so long the dealer was calling me asking if we wrecked the car i just laughed and said we will be back in 10 chill out. the day before i drove one with 56k on it and from the min i saw it it looked beat and once i drove it i could feel it tranny shifted for crap handled for crap stopped in a parking lot to actually look the car over without a sales guy giving me the 5 cent tour of a car i know very well. car had dings and scratches all over it like a purse was set on the rr deck and hood and dragged across it. had several chips knicks in the door panels and door handles on the inside clearly a womens long finger nails, just a beat up car. pull the dipstick is the oil black and stinks? is the rr tail pipes covered inside in black crap? stay away. take it to a reputable shop and have them inspect the car thoughly it will be worth the $150-200 to have this done. all in all i worked for nissan for 10yrs and still have close buddies that work there they say the z is probally the cheapest to maintane and most dependable rr drive sports car on the streets. have a nice talk with the owner to feel out what he is all about, is he into racing the crap out of the car or does he treat it like his 2nd or 3rd child. check for any leaks, bad rash to the underside of the car, common stuff. gl hope it works out for you.

Why in the hell do people think it's cool to have a nice car in college where ****** on campus will mess with your car, dumb drunk b!tches will throw up in your car etc. I would get rid of the VW and not get a Z and instead get a cheap reliable Toyota Camry and stack skrilla on the side for a Z when I graduate. It's what I did, and I got way more than just a Nissan Z.
