Re-introduction/Reminiscing w/pics!
Hey guys, its been a while. I logged on today to find that the forum has changed a lot since my 350z days, and that was only about 3 years ago So since I'm here and have a little time, I figured I would look at some of my old posts lol. Ill include pics because everyone loves pics.
Here are my first "intro" posts. Its funny to read my posts from 5-6 years ago. I was 20 and 21. I can tell I was different back then with my choices of diction lol.

This is a funny story from my then girlfriend. I was pretty retarded back then it seems lol. Oh well, you live and you learn. Me and the girl in that story have been married for a year now and have been together for over 8 1/2 years. Not too bad for someone who is 26.

Oh boy. At the time this story was the craziest thing I have ever experienced. I was a cop for 6 months at the time of this story. I have now been on the job for a little over 5 years, and let me tell you, I have seen some CRAZY stuff. The job really does change you.

Anyway, my 350z ended up getting totaled from a drunk driver. I did a lot of work on that car and when it got totaled I felt sick. I was heart broken. I ended up getting $15500 for it though, which was pretty awesome seeing as how I bought the car for $15k, drove it for a little over 2 years, and had 8x,000 miles on it. I was able to pull very few of my aftermarket parts off of it and sell them. The funny thing is when the accident occurred, I had absolutely no interior in the car aside from my dash and the drivers seat because I was in the process of trying to locate a water leak.

And some pictures of my 350z in its prime. Nothing real special but it was my baby:
Anyway I ended up getting a 370z in Feb of 2012. I definitely love the car.
I definitely have a passion for all Z cars that started when I got my 350z. I help and hang out with fellow Z enthusiasts with our local club. I attended my first ZDayZ this year and already have my cabin booked for next year. Im sure I met some of you this year and will see even more of you guys next year. My club is hosting ZCON next year in Memphis in July. I hope to see you guys there too!
If you guys don't already know, Sasha with Boosted Performance and Charles with CJM are stand up guys who's products are marvelous. You honestly can't find better quality or customer service.
I just wanted to say hi again and reminisce on some of the old threads I posted and show that I'm still a Z head!

Fun read.
I will, however, NOT be showing my wife the pic of your 370 with front end off. I can hear her already.... "Waaaaaahhhh, he's got that intercooler thingamajiggy, how come mine doesn't have one? I want one of those!"
"Yes dear."
Welcome back.

That crazy day at the office story is great! Almost as great as Verdict running over some guy with his car, then holding his hand.

dang
turbo 370s are cool and all (esp. w 5/600hp), but i liked your 350 better! really clean/ideal styling brother: wrk emotions, shaved wiper, bumper tuck, lowered, flush (not stanced), with single exhaust, clean stock body
sorry you lost it to a drunk idiot, but nice recovery with the 370z, and most importantly you lived.
the new z looks great though, great thread, thanks for the photos!
btw, Tennessee plates? ever go to deal's gap/tail of the dragon? Once saw an S2000 launch off a cliff

They eventually caught him. The van belonged to some HVAC company that had a lot of expensive equipment in it. When they called, the sheriffs department said they had to give the driver up before they could get their equipment back. Im not sure if he got any time or not though.... Im just glad to have come out of it ok.
Thanks! Yeah it all worked out. I got a car note for another 5 years lol, but I do like the 370z.
I could almost tell stories all day long lol. You would be surprised at all of the crazy things a big city cop would see and experience lol.

Im am on the very edge of West TN. I have been to the Dragon once (6+ hours away) when I went to ZDayZ in May. It was by far some of the most exhilarating driving I have done. I would recommend it to anyone who loves driving. Its really dangerous though. There were 3 or 4 people that I know about that totaled their cars that week. One was a GTR. One was a blue twin turbo 350z. I don't remember the others.

Welcome back. See ya in May - this will make my 11th ZDayZ, only missed the first one as I didn't hear about it then. Glad you are back in the saddle with a Z - gets in your blood doesn't it? I went backwards and picked up a '90 TT this past spring - totally different car than the Z33 but damn, gotta love 410 to the wheels and didn't want to deal with the expense and potential problems of FI on a 370, or my poor tired 350 with 146,000+ on the clock. And it's nice to have a choice in the summer as well.

Yeah... I loved that car. I was really heartbroken when it got wrecked, which is weird because I never thought I would feel that way about a car. I originally looked for another white 350z, but I couldn't find one that was in a condition that I wanted. I basically wanted my car back. But I did find a matching car in a 370z. To be honest, I didn't really like the 370 at first. My 350z had a lot of suspension work done which made driving it awesome. I had solid mounts and bushings on everything. When I got into the 370 it felt so tame. Even the stock exhaust on the 350z is way better than the stock on the 370.

Dragon is bad*ss! I'll have to get out to ZDayZ. My only reserve is that I haven't done the suspension work to my 350 yet and I definitely don't trust the factory mounts/bushings/end-links. I'll get out there, hopefully see you out there and you can change my mind about the 370z! Looks awesome though man, good to see. What's that other car in the garage next to the 370?

Fair, but i'm sure the 370 is great. Also a Z fanatic, i'm sure the 370 will end up in my garage someday also... I bet it's a blast to drive though, do you have any suspension work on the 370 yet?

The other car is my wifes Genesis Coupe. Meh, lol.

Not to hi-jack the thread but I thought it was an appropriate title as I too came across some pics taken back in 2007 when I had my 2006 350Z GT. I was flirting with the idea of going twin turbo. I had previously owned a 1984 300ZX 50th Anniversary Edition Turbo and one of the things that the turbo Z31's had (with analog gauges anyway) was a combo oil pressure/oil temp gauge and a boost gauge in the center of the dash.
Since I'm kind of an OEM-type nerd, I figured "I wonder what Nissan would have done about a boost gauge in the center gauge cluster if they offered a 350Z turbo from the factory"?
I got to work and borrowed the "OIL" and "BOOST" name plates from a Z31 turbo and then made custom gauge overlays in the 350Z style for a mechanical boost gauge I fabbed up. Westpak installed the modified cluster on his 350Z twin turbo to see how it would look and the pics below show the result:
Here's a camera phone "quickie" video of the boost gauge in action:
