I would never spend 10k for auto insurance... my Z is $200 per year.

I'm an enthusiast and only drive meaningful trips, zdayz, cars and coffee, few other car events.

It is possible they barely drove it and had it as a second car or third. When I bought my 2004 Z in 2011 It only had 34,000 miles on it. Thats an average of about 4700 a year. Don't worry so much if its in great shape.

There's this guy that does custom led gauges specifically for the z on youtube. He also has the option to program the mileage on the gauges. Could be possible the last owner did the same. Heres the website gaugecraft.com

Or he could of picked up a guage from the junkyard.

Or it could be that the last owner didnt drive it at all. Or it sat in the lot of a dealership for a long time.

Generally if the car is on the lot more than 120 days the dealer freaks out and drops the price enough to entice buyers. I used to sell cars and the 350z never stayed on the lot longer than 60 days.

For new cars the dealer gets a kickback from the manufacturer to sell old stock first.

The steering wheel could be worn from a previous owner that wore a few rings. Years ago, I had a driver that destroyed a steering wheel after only two years. He wore several rings on each hand and had a habit of digging the rings into the wheel. The rings gouged the leather pretty deep. He wanted me to pay for a new steering wheel. He got a new steering wheel but he paid for it himself.
I'd be more concerned about wear on the gas, brake and clutch pedals.

Or, the car could have been wrecked or broke down for a while.
