Crashed My 350z
So on my way to school today i managed to run off the side of the road and into the ditch in my Z. From what we can see, the right tire is off the rim, my front bumper is slightly detached from the car, and the front (fender covers?) some black piece underneath my the front of my car ripped off. There is also possible damage to the bottom of the car. I am mainly wondering, what do you guys think the damage to the bottom of the car could be? i slid through dirt for a solid 30 feet and the car probably bottomed out a couple times.

not long, a few months. Insurance is not involved yet because we just had it towed to the shop. We are going to see if we can pay for the damages outright without having to jack up our rates.

yea thats what i figured so far. The bumper is actually not damage in any way just slightly detached so it just needs to be refitted. Thanks for for tip on the undershroud i will look into it, and yea the tire is also not damaged but it is off the bead so it needs a little work. I will update tomorrow when i know what damage is on the underside.

Thanks but not really looking for some guy to scold me. Yes I slid 30 feet after I hit the grass because the speed limit was 55mph and I was doing 60.

Well when you hit the side of the road hard enough to knock the tire loose which is what they believe happened you tend to not be able to control it too well. Thanks for the concern but I'm not really looking for scolding my father can handle that.

The bumper cover needs to be carefully inspected for damage in the corner next to the fender. Two 10 mm bolts hold it up there on each side and if the urethane holes get torn, they'll need to be repaired to properly hold the bumper in place. Don't be tempted to go without the undertray or fender liners, as they work in concert with the bumper cover to stiffen the front bodywork.

Now I'm not going to scold you, as it's not my place...BUT, you're 16 and driving a rwd sports car that has a decent amount of power. Please be mindful of this, I cannot stress it enough. The Z imo is a very easy car to drive...correctly. But at the same time, you can just as easily lose control if you don't know what you're doing and understand the dynamics and limitations of a car. (Especially during inclement weather)
I find it very hard to believe that you lost control doing 5mph over the speed limit unless you were either
A. Not paying attention/texting
B. Not paying attention/texting
C. Horsing around
D. Not enough driving experience
I'm not trying to rip into you, just trying to keep you mindful of what you're driving. Consider it a lesson learned and be thankful the damage was minor and no injuries.
My first car was a 1988 pontiac grand am with like 1/2 the power and front wheel drive. Just to put things into perspective.

in case the previous comment does not explain well enough, i was distracted for just a second causing me to hit the edge of the road which was a lot rougher than normal.
