Default Immobilizer

I have been having problems with my 2003 350z starting, same common problem as most, the antenna in the ignition switch or computer must have an issue. The chipped ignition key doesnt always get recognized and the red light stays on and the car wont start.
I understand i can bring it to a tuner shop with the proper computer set up and have the system disabled. Is this true?
And does anyone know of a shop in the Raliegh nc area that can do this?

Will any kind of engine light stay on if its deactivated?
And at that point a key can be made at a local hardware store now, is that correct?

Any Uprev protuner can disable NATS with an Uprev reflash, you can get it done at a shop or reflash it yourself at home if you purchase the reflash cable along with it. I'm not sure if the security light stays on when you disable it on a Z, I know it does on Titans tho. But yes once its disabled you can use unprogrammed keys just fine

I would double check connection before I assume the Immobilizer is bad. I recently had this issue and it was lingering on and off. All I did was make sure the positive battery cable is all the way down on the post and tightened all the way or as snug as you can get it without moving. This seemed to solv my problem. For the past 3 weeks going on to for weeks I have had no issues with my car acting funny and not starting up. Everything is good now. Just double check your connections. I had the exact symptoms.

^ this. Exact same symptoms solved with tightening the battery terminals.
