Default 2005 350z (New Owner)

Greetings from Earth:

I recently purchased a 2005 350z. I figured it would be best to come here and tell everyone about it.

The car has 78k miles on it and runs like a champ. This is also my first manual car. I learned to drive manual on it within the first two days... and I totally didn't stall it or anything because I'm just that amazing. Just kidding, the transmission is probably going to need replacing soon because of me.

As soon as this damn weather gets better and all the salt is gone, I'm going to take it back out again and have my way with her.

AH! I'm so happy I can just.. I can...

Very nice. Congrats. It looks like it has the 06+ headlights too. I could be mistaken though.

Nice car! Also, you're not alone on learning to drive a manual, everyone has to go through the struggle of learning. Hope to see you around the forums!

They look like Depo headlights to me. could be wrong.

Welcome to the forum!

We had a great weekend (lil chilly for most) and I had the Z out scooting around every chance I got. Then it rained ice Sunday night. It didn't stick at all but still made everything wet. I agree, I'm ready for full on spring!

Any plans to change anything? I wouldn't beat yourself up too much. There's another thread on here from a New owner learning, with lots of good tips to learn faster/better

As of right now, I'm not really thinking about changing anything. Performance-wise, this car is very powerful as it sits (to me at least). Back tires need definite replacing. We pulled it out of the driveway to get our Chevy out and we couldn't get it back where it was because there was like a centimeter of snow in the way (there's literally no tread on the tires).

I might replace the cold air intake filter. It looks very tiny. I might even extend it downward because it's sitting on the lower right hand side and I'm afraid it'll suck in hot air and overheat.

And thanks so much for welcoming me! This is such a nice community!

Change the tires asap. Even when it's nice out you will slide in the rain

If I was in your shoes, I would replace the tires FIRST, do any maintenance needed, then throw some 25mm and 30mm hubcentric wheel spacers on to make the car look more aggressive. And they can be found for ~$100 a set of 2 used on here or the 370 site.

What oldschool said^^^

I found out the HARD way what balding tires do in the rain on the 350Z. Spinning 3-4 times in the middle of a down pour across 4 lanes of traffic in San Diego... Thank GOD I didn't hit anything or get it. VERY lucky. I was literally 2 days away from trailering it 1/2 way across the country so I didn't bother. Never again.

Spacers would be the perfect thing to get! Thanks for the idea... it was a great idea. In fact, it was so great that I came up with it.
