Default Bike rack for 2004 350z

Hello!

I just wanted to get some opinions and advice for a bike rack for my 350z. I currently have a roadbike and I plan on driving back to California from South Dakota. My last bike rack gave my bumper a couple scratches from it wobbling due to a cheap bike rack. If anyone can give me any suggestions for a good comfortable bike rack for my 350z that'd be awesome, thanks!

John, how'd you mount your rack?

Hitch? When I was looking for one, couldn't find anyone to sell me a hitch nor rack. Ended up with a Boofsquire (no longer made but bought off someone on CL) with a Yak upright carrier and can add at least one more if necessary

Not my car, just a sample.

Never mounted.... when we need to take our bikes, we use the Volvo or Highlander, both equipped with 2" hitches and a 3-bike rack but nice knowing I can take my bikes on my '03 Z if needed.

It goes on the wifes MDX.
It would get interesting trying to put it on my Z roadster trunk, haha.

I have a cheesy hatchback rack that would probably work but have never tried it on the z. I think I would just ship it home that would be a long drive with a extra thing to worry about.

Try to research about the Delta hunch rack. It can carry two bikes.

+1 for the Boofsquire rack, can haul 2 bikes on mine, super easy to take on and off. May be a chanllenge to locate one, but well worth the effort. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

You plan on adding a hitch to pull a trailer also? It would compliment your roof rack, also you need wider mirrors for towing purposes...

Thanks for reply. I don't plan on adding a hitch, just a yakima's base rack.
I can purchase all of Yakima products here in Tokyo, but distributor said that they don't know which q-crips is fit with my 350Z.

No need, just remove the passenger seat
This is a big 29er so im pretty sure anything will fit... this is of course before I completely gutted the car... now I can probably put 8 bikes in there .

^^^^ Laff.... have done this a number of times with the seat in place and both 700c wheels in the back. BUT....after the last time - when I ended up hole punching the side panel with a brake lever or bar end, and subsequently replacing it - the Zs no longer carry bikes - and I even have a Boof rack for them.
