Default Automatic fluid smell?

Is this a common AT issue after hard acceleration? I also got this odor during a Vette test drive. No leaks showing up. 43k on an unabused '08. No funk on its test drive.
Anywho, the car had sat for 10 minutes after an easy drive to the store. Smashed it and then the funk.
The first time I got the odor was late into an aggressive mountain drive outing(off Mulholland). Not too intense, as I pulled back from smelling hot brakes.

I never got this funk from my previous AT's.

Can't say I've ever smelt it in my 06 at z. I don't drive real aggressively on the street, but it's taken trips. As well as being to the track.

I never smell anything other than exhaust when in the garage.

Is the tranny dipstick seated completely?

Generally speaking, I would go with other posters' assessments that it is NOT ATF or could possibly be a loose, leaking dipstick causing weep/spray of ATF onto the exhaust. Auto transmissions are a "closed system" so burning of the fluid is difficult to detect unless there's leakage back into the engine or other sources of burn-off as mentioned.

What's the condition of the fluid when you checked it? Did you smell it? True overheating of ATF fluid will be acrid and sweet smelling. Check for leaks? Any discoloration of the engine exhaust smoke at warm-up? White smoke on acceleration? Those are signs of internal leakage.

I would recommend a change of fluids.... Nissan Matic-S
