Default Polished aluminum gauge face rings for 350z

So I'm casually window shopping Redline Goods steering wheel cover replacements on Amazon.

(Steering wheel covers do look sweet though, don't they?)

Then I spot the chrome (evidently polished aluminum) gauge rings! I had a set in my 3rd gen Maxima that I adored. I'm not usually a fan of high polish/chromed metals but had to try them out.

Does anyone else have these? I've never seen 'em. I'm curious how it will look against the brushed aluminum face of the gauge cluster bezel, but if it's anything like the pictures, I'd say "pretty damn good".

Some company in the UK sells them on Ebay. Here is the link for anyone interested:

I actually like the look of them. Never owned a set however.

Pass- shiny chrome rings catch sunlight and cause glare at the worst time in a performance car. Usually happens when you're looking for a brake marker or turn-in point. There's a reason Nissan used matte finishes on the Z...

Yeah... cover replacement, wrap, whatever. I know it replaces the OEM "wrap" with the custom Redline Goods one. Excuse the terminology.

As far as glare goes, our dashboards cause tons of glare- I seriously doubt a few polished rings below eyesight level are going to cause you to miss a turn-in or brake marker.

My point is, the Z33 doesn't need polished/chromed rings to distract from the driving experience. As for glare from the dash, I think Nissan designers used a lot of matte finishes to keep the glare down. I've seen a few IPs that were painted silver just for the pure bling, and there's a TON of glare that comes off something like that.

They don't look awful, not my cup of tea though. I could see if the main face was black the rings might add a nice contrast, but to me, I like the less is more simplicity of our cars. Plus if the chrome peels or chips I bet those will be a real pain to remove.

these are nice.. they used to make some awesome billet pieces for the z thru any-s.net years ago.. but not any longer.
Ill most likely pick up a set of these to try.
My interior is anything but standard.

Yes, to each their own. Even I considered the contrast of brushed vs. polished aluminum right up against each other, but I think it's such a small detail that it might make it look a bit more upscale; maybe differentiate the gauge cluster from the 6th gen Maximas a little more.

They claim to be a polished aluminum so I doubt they'll chip like a clad chrome/plastic cover; if anything maybe oxidize a bit. I'm not too worried.

The ad says they don't require glue so that was a big plus, same as in my Max. Tight enough to pop in and call it a day.

I'll update once I get them in.

I think I'll order a set too..might have a Sligh issue fitting them over the cf overlay on my gauge faces now.. but I'm swapping all my gauges out soon to Speedhut units w a more vintage /tech looking facew shiny machined aluminum bezels too..this would be stellar.

Pretty Idk how they would look on mine since my gauges are already changed to blue and the background color is grey.
