Default Replacement key problems

I recently lost my original key and called a locksmith to come program a new one for me. The key he made as of right now can is only a mechanical key and still needs to be programmed. When i put the key in the ignition and turn it there is no power in the cluster and radio. There needs to be power so he can finish programming the key. All the gauges are not moving and all the lights in the cluster are off. I checked every fuse and the battery and alternator. What could be the problem?!!?

The problem is you need the CONSULT tool to program the key.

Now go to the introduce yourself thread and watch your post get moved to the correct forum.
