03 350z computer question
Whats going on guys?. I am new to the forums here and have turned to you guys for some help. I picked up an 03 350z about 3 years ago, it has about 100k on it. I am having issues with the check engine light. About a year ago it came on due to 2 oxygen sensors being bad. At this point in time i went ahead and replaced the sensors and while i was at it put on a few bolt on upgrades. Here is where my issue is. I reset the computer myself by doing the ignition/peddle code and the engine light resets. When i shut the car off and turn it back on the engine light reappears. I took it to a friends garage the other day and he said the whole computer is bad and its not giving any readout to the rest of the car or o2 sensors. After the bolt ons I have NOT gotten a ECU tuning yet. I am wondering if that is the issue or could it be the computer is bad. I don't want to dish out the money for a new computer and the engine light still be on. ANy input would be greatly appreciated.
bolt ons were:
JWT pop charger
Motordyne shockwave tdx2 exhaust
motordyne mrev2 manifold
motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer

What code is the ECU throwing? Or is it not able to do a handshake with the scan tool at all?

Its only throwing o2 sensors codes, bank1 sensor1 and bank2 sensor2, and again getting it looked at by the garage he is telling me the sensors and computer are basically not talking.

Maybe your new sensors are faulty but more then likely you never reset the computer. Unhook your battery for a few hours then give it a try. Its probably going to idle wierd and not inspire confidence for the first few miles... Did your friend erase your codes with his computer? Whats with mechanics just reading codes and not taking the extra second to hit the erase button to see if they stay off. Good luck im guessing your problem isnt major and your garage buddy isnt being very helpful.

You have to drive the car for awhile there are procedures you can do. I did this reset when I got the engine light and when I went to get a inspection all the data was cleared and failed the inspection I think this is the issue your having I just drove it for a month then went back for the inspection and passed that is why your friend can't get any data but the engine light should went away after the reset Gl

How about you give us the ACTUAL codes? If the computer wasn't talking with the scan tool, then you wouldn't even be getting what you've described.
