Default Road to FBO, plus more :) (G3/PPE/XYZ/Fuji/UPREV)

Hello Guys,

This is my first time posting, I usually stick to the fb groups, but since i've gotten a lot of my knowledge off of this group I decided to finally post!

I've had my 07 350z for a good 8 months, bought it completely stock. New engine was put in it with around 60k miles. Before this car I had a 07 G35 sedan so I already knew most of the mods I wanted to buy. Off the back I ordered AAM Test Pipes, and a fujitsubu Legaris R Exhaust. I then purchased a motordyne XYZ pipe, stillen gen 3 intakes, and I got my car tuned by a guy here in town with uprev. The car made 287whp/250wtq, the pull was made in 4th gear, sae correction factor>

The car has been sitting with those mods for a while, i finally pulled the trigger on some PPE Long Tube Headers! They took a while to get here, packaging was okay, not the greatest IMO. The actual headers were also scuffed up, it seems like the high temp coating rubbed off on something before completely drying. It pisses me off, but I don't want to send them back and have to wait another couple weeks. I hope the NM dryness and heat keeps them from rusting since for some reason I decided to get them in mild steel

I'll get them installed asap, looking forward to my re tune. I'm hoping to see a gain of at least 10-15whp, i"m still debating on the z1 intake manifold and whether or not I'll gain anything from it. If this post gets any attention i'll post the re tune vid, if not, oh well lol

Stay tuned, I also have a wot box and a set of GTR injectors that need to be installed, as well as a lot of other goodies!

Ain't that the truth, I joined a group a couple weeks back. I left the group after a couple days, couldn't handle the stupidity.

Thank you all for the welcome posts! I took my car to my main mechanic and he's charging me $280 to install them! It should be done by later today, but I wouldn't be mad if he takes till tomorrow for that price. I'll have an exhaust video posted here, as well as my retune video on the dynojet.

I'm considering a review post on the ppe's, there is a lot of posts reviewing how difficult they are to install, but not a lot talking about how the car feels afterwards. Let me know if you guys would like that I know a post like that would have pushed me to either get them sooner, or not at all haha

Wow that is a pretty good price after reading what it takes to install the PPE headers.

Hearing mixed things about the header installations on these cars. I've read everywhere on here how much of a pain they are, yet someone posted two days ago that they would tackle the install. He did it in his driveway from start to finish in 3 hours.

I can't imagine that being done in 3 hours. That's crazy fast.

Okay guys, I'm back! I had the headers installed and they took about 6 hours with a trip to the dealer for some stripped nuts. Other than that they fit amazing and they made my exhaust tone come down a pitch or two. Still some rasp, but not obnoxious. I think my exhaust is more bearable compared to my aam test pipes setup.

I also installed a nitrous express nissan/infiniti dual nozzle kit and installed 370z spark plugs. Window switch and the progressive controller will be through wot box and their nitrous add on. As of now I have the nitrous set up on a button, but the whole setup will be redone with a pedal switch and I will have everything professionally installed by a local nissan oriented shop. I set the jets to a 70whp shot, the oem clutch will not hold more than that.

I took the car to the drag strip paired with a new cf hatch BEFORE my tune and my ET dropped by .4 and my trap increased by 4mph. Fastest pass of the night was a 12.8 at 113 with a 2.2 60ft. cf hatch gave me a 60lb weight reduction with professionally installed lexan glass.

Dyno day we had complications with the dyno and we ended up doing a street tune. The car pulls hard up top, 4th gear keeps pulling as opposed to running out of breath when racing bigger v8's. I returned for a tune on map 2 for nitrous and the car made 396whp 400wtq on the 70whp shot. No NA numbers, but I will get those numbers next time I visit the dyno!

Here's the link to the exhaust clip and my youtube channel where I upload cool vids of my HR
