Hows it going everyone?

I am just looking for those that have removed the secondary firewall for engine swaps. I am just looking for a little info and I can not find any recent builds or people within the last few years who have done this.

I know most of these swaps go unfinished and I really don't need a discussion on that. I am curious to find out what others have done to close the gaps in the frame rail to the inner firewall when removing the lower half of the secondary.

This is plenty of open space and I am seeing what routes people went, was replacement metal welded in? Did people just leave it? I live on the east coast so corrosion avoidance is huge for me.

I just cut out the top flimsy peice where it meets the pinch welds

I did that already and I just started on the bottom section. I am grinding off the welds the attach to the trans tunnel and cutting along the seam of the frame rails and then I am going to weld the inner and outer seam together. Still haven't decided whether or not to weld in metal to close the firewall to frame rail gap, or just fiber over to seal out water and protect against corrosion.

Well. I'll give you a hint, may have tried and I have only seen very few swaps completed. Only ones that I have seen completed were for track cars. The rest of the people just stop posting and they are numerous years old.
