I have the Bassani cat back with Berk HFC's and I love it. No drone and you can keep it as quiet or loud as you want. Under 3k rpms it's barely there but get over 3500 and it starts to get nice.
Not the best bang for your buck though. If I remember back to when i got it, the exhaust was $850 and the cats were $350-4, so about $1200 all together. I have about 80k miles with it on and have I not had any issues at all.
As everybody mentioned above, until you get into headers and a tune, it's really about sound. Listen to everything you can and like Trav said don't cheap out, buy it right the first time and you will save $$ in the long run

Yeaaa.... I daily it like this, half gutted interior and just keep it below 3K. In all, not for the faint of heart

However, you don't need the $1600 full catback. The $950 muffler and mid pipe paired with oem y pipe will be good enough. Nor do you need to get test pipes. You could try pairing it with HFCs or even ART pipes. It would be much quieter and still within a reasonable budget
