Default Coupe and convertible doors

Not sure if there is already a thread for this but whatever.
A few weeks ago I hydroplaned into a fence, putting a pretty good dent in my passenger door. My dad found a convertible Z at a pick n' pull with a good door and luckily my same color. We searched if the convertible door will fit on a coupe and several forums popped up with no definite answer. Also the part numbers for the convert. door and coupe door are different. He went ahead and got it and I can confirm they do fit.
The door was off a 2004 convertible.
My coupe is a 2005.
One small issue I had was that on the convertible door, the was a little like pin not allowing the handle to go on, not a big deal I just cut it off with a angle grinder.
I couldn't see any difference in structural support for the convertible door.
I'll post pictures.

This is the convertible door and the screw thing that I cut off. It's where the top bolt for the handle goes. You can also see where I got a little bit of the door with the grinder. I'm not happy about that.

This is the coupe door. The top hole is where it would have been.
I don't know if the screw was on there for no reason or if it comes on convertible Z doors, but it was on mine and I'm just giving feedback.

Unfortunately you're right. I hate that I couldn't contribute more, but at the same time greatful because he got the door and fender for a great price at a junk yard.
And I'm 17.
