Default Need help deciding what to do????

I have a 2008 350z and so far its stock besides the upgraded intake which was there when I got the car. Anyways, I am wanting to do some kind of mod to my exhaust. I read some forms already about deleting the resonator and muffler and going with straight pipes or x pipes. I think its something I want to do but I need another option. Thanks..

If you want less power, sh!tty sound, and you want to annoy your neighbors and the cops - great idea.

I'll try to be kind here and point out that neither intake or exhaust mods (by themselves) will help to produce much--if any--extra horsepower. Do a little research on these forums and you'll find a wealth of information on the HR, rather than just a few opinions.

If you're serious about wanting to "mod" your exhaust it's going to cost a little coin. As stated above, you won't gain much in the way of horsepower but it will change the sound if that's what you're going for. Test pipes or high flow cats coupled with a catback exhaust of you're choosing will be the best way to change your exhaust. As far as which exhaust, well that will be entirely up to you. Jump on the ole youtubes and do some research. There's a video of most exhausts made for the 350Z.

I have just the nissan resonator hooked up on my S10 it sounds pretty impressive as far as obnoxiously bad and annoying to drive exhaust goes...

I do have a real exhaust on my 350z because I actually care about that car...

I would be a little embarrassed to tell someone I removed my muffler to make my car sound noisy, but im also pretty lame.

Leaving it stock is better than hacking it to hell. I purchased a Borla true dual catback for my HR and it sounds great. Decide if you want a single exit or dual and go from there.

i am partial to the ART pipes and TDX2 from motordyne. that will eat up about half of your allotted amount, then figure in a tune... so about $3k

I have a borla true dual, unless you remove your stock catalytic converters you dont hear anything...

Even without interior unless your high in the rpms its ultra conservative sounding as far as aftermarket Japanese car exhaust goes.

Honestly oem sounds better, borla does however flow better, and is nicely built..

It also doesn't have any flex joints so the h pipe area cracks

True. If you're looking for a loud exhaust,Borla probably isnt for you..I however am getting to old for that hah. I put the Berk HFC on mine and love the sound. No drone, and really opens up when you're rowing through the gears.

Again,YouTube is your best friend!

+1 on the Borla with Berk hfc's. I love how quiet it is just driving around. Getting into the throttle a little will reveal a nice deep growl. Yes, there are exhausts that are louder and sound better, but I like how low key the borla is until you want to hear it.
