The low-beams on my 04 were also terrible, however, I am came across a thread at one point about adjusting the beam angle higher and that really improved the lighting situation. They are far from being the best HID lights out there, but with the adjustment they are good enough for my needs.

I will update my post, if I find a link.
I will take a shot at that tonight, can't hurt.

If you haven't done it and it hasn't been done before (it looks like it hasn't from your video), it will be a noticeable difference.

I think I did three turns on my lights, night and day.

Well now your running into the risk of blinding or whiting out all on coming traffic.

Make sure your beam light cut off point isn't any more than 3ft off the ground pointed at a flat object roughly 25 ft ahead of you while your car is on a flat level surface.

Expect to get flashed by everyone on the road. I get people flashing me all the time in my truck after my level kit. And Ive already adjusted them to the proper height. But if your at the right angle my head lights will kill your eye *****. Feel bad for cars in front of me cause my lights are level with everyone's rear view mirrors lol

Does come in handy for the occasional d bag in traffic that cuts me off tho

Sorry about the shaky camera and it going out of focus near the end. Moving the lights up helped, but I think I'm going to still add a light bar. I've been doing some googling on it, and searched this forum, I haven't found any DIY guides for a z.

This light seems to have some good reviews, and its curved so should line up. Do you remove the grill so it's open to the radiator? or just put this behind it?

use a D2R bulb instead of the factory D2S . this gave me a lot more light with the factory 2003 headlight for little cost. the D2S has shields on the side of the bulb which in my opinion are stupid. You can also relay your high beams in order to use a 55w bulb. You can buy them on Rallylights.com. also wile relaying you can tie that light bar into your high beams. enjoy.

These are the lights I just ordered.
Low Beam High Beam

I would love to tie in the bar to the highs, but then I could never use my high beams until I was closer to home. I have a hour drive to and from work, 80% is in the country, but I often use the brights 99% of the drive. I think I'll put a switch in the panel on the left, where the gas lock is, I have a few free slots there.

you are going to hate the 10k bulbs, it is going to be a very blue light and low output. 5o00k is almost pure white

although not the best pic, i have 6000k bulbs for headlights and driving lights, you can see some of the blueish from this pic

10000K?! Oy.... cheap blue lights.

I thought you wanted MORE light.

So did you troubleshoot the rest of your system?

Yeaaaa do not go 10k...

Don't think it makes it brighter it just changes the color essentially. Btw I typically have run 7k on most of my sport bikes for visibility and it's usually a blue with a hint of white. 10k if not pure deep blue may be close to a purple in color. 12k is usually a full purple.

Color varies per application and company of bulb and ballast of course.

I haven't been able too yet. I am waiting on the new assemblies to come in, one has shipped, the other hasn't. Once I have them, I was going to test with the current lights in the new assemblies to see if there was a drastic difference. I did research AFTER buying those lights, 6000k is more what i'm after. They say that's close to daylight, my porch lights are LED's that claim daylight, it is such a pure light. For 10 bucks ill hold on to these, and get the 6000k ones.

What's in the car now are stock, so 4300k, they are so yellow and dim. The 10000k was an impulse buy because they were so cheap haha.

The assemblys are from here Left Right

Noon daylight is close to 5600K not 6500K as "daylight" leds often are. When buying lights look at the lumen output more than the color temperature.

http://www.morimotohid.com/component...tml?preselect=

Get some quality 4000-5000K bulbs

^^^ Totally THIS!

The "cheap aftermarket" (Hello, Fleabay?) people really do the enthusiast community a great disservice by advertising their "uber 10000K light bulbs for $5 a piece" and completely blow off the mention of actual light output (the lumens rancor mentions).

Higher color temperature numbers (the Kelvin number) are NOT always better and NOT brighter after a point reached on the color scale. (6000K or so is the cutoff then their output drops.)

I noticed a decrease in light immediately in front of the car going to 6k, but reflective signs seem more noticeable with them....

I have also been looking at converting the high and low to LED lights, the Highs I can find the H7 and the resistor, but for the lows, i'm having a hard time finding a D2x type LED light to go in there. Have any of you gone this route?
