Default Speakers for 350z

I got an aftermarket radio for my 2006 Z and the stock Bose speakers aren't as loud as I wanted them to be with the new radio. I have a pioneer, and was wondering what are some great quality speakers that are preferred for the Z. Please let me know!

This is likely because your stock Bose speakers are rated at a lower impedance than your new HU is set up for. 2-ohm versus 4-ohm I think.

Not sure of the intricacies of the Bose setup since I've never done a "Bose-bypass" or HU upgrade on a Bose based system; but everyone seems to suggest bypassing the Bose amp & sub and starting fresh with all new speakers.

The Audio guys will chime in here NO DOUBT.

S'far as replacement speakers, I'm high on my Focals.

you need to rewire everything to bypass the bose amps... they also run at 2 or 3 ohm, and replace the speakers

been covered a million times or two

I bypassed - pioneer HU on the stock sub and speakers. They sound much better than using the stock HU. But they're still crap.

About 6 months ago I picked up a pair of infinity kappa speakers. They sound great and weren't very expensive (little over 100)

I went with Polk. Got them from Crutchfield. The rears came with tweeters and crossovers. Less than $200 for all 6. Very pleased with them.

As Mic has already stated, your stock Bose speakers are not compatible with your new Pioneer HU because Bose uses a different impedance than Pioneer.

You can keep your wiring in place. but you must bypass the Bose amps and replace the Bose speakers. To get the best sound, add a new external amp.

You don't have to bypass the Bose system. Several companies make an adapter/interface that wires in between factory wiring and new head unit. If I remember correctly, it can be had for $30-40.
I got one on amazon for around $32.

^^^ That there is good, useful info! Figured there had to be a way. I mean, we're merely talking about impedance load and to convert to be suitable is basic electronics.

^ Actually you reminded me, that is what I used to hook up my Pioneer HU to my stock BOSE. Forgot all about that. It works great.

There's also some sort of harness modification you can do to remedy the issue. I saw it on the brit forums I think. I'll see if I can find the guide.

Edit:
Found it:

Not as simple as wiring in a PAC adapter but supposedly yields better results. Or so they claim.
