Default Auto Parts Pricing Lawsuit

http://www.autopartsclass.com/index.php

"Settlements have been reached in a massive class action lawsuit accusing certain automotive parts manufacturers of engaging in a widespread price-fixing scheme.

The auto parts price-fixing class action lawsuits involve consumers and businesses who purchased or leased qualifying new vehicles or who indirectly purchased qualifying replacement parts from the defendants.

The plaintiffs assert that they paid more than they should have for their vehicles and/or replacement parts.

There are dozens of auto parts that are covered in this litigation, including but not limited to air conditioning systems, alternators, automotive bearings, wire harness systems, electric powered steering assemblies, fuel injection systems, heater control panels, instrument panel clusters, inverters, motor generators, occupant safety restraint systems, power window motors and switches, radiators, spark plugs, starters, and window wiper systems.

There are currently two rounds of settlements that have been reached with defendants. The court has granted final approval of settlements with the following defendants “Round 1 Settlements”:

Autoliv Inc., Autoliv ASP Inc., Autoliv B.V. & Co. KG, Autoliv Safety Technology Inc., and Autoliv Japan Ltd.

RAD Co. Ltd and T.RAD North America Inc.
TRW Deutschland Holding GmbH and TRW Automotive Holdings Corporation
Yazaki and Yazaki North America Inc.
The Round 1 Settlements are currently being appealed and therefore have not been finalized.

A second group of settlements “Round 2 Settlements” have been reached but they have not yet received final approval by the court. The defendants involved in the Round 2 Settlements include:

Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd. and Aisin Automotive Casting LLC
DENSO Corporation; DENSO International America Inc.; DENSO International Korea Corporation; DENSO Korea Automotive Corporation; DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH; ASMO Co. Ltd.; ASMO North America LLC; ASMO Greenville of North Carolina Inc., and ASMO Manufacturing Inc.
Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. and American Furukawa Inc.

Schaeffler Group USA Inc.
Sumitomo Riko Co. Ltd. and DTR Industries Inc.
Tokai Rika Co. Ltd. and TRAM Inc. d/b/a Tokai Rika U.S.A. Inc.
Valeo Japan Co. Ltd. on behalf of itself and Valeo Inc., Valeo Electrical Systems Inc. and Valeo Climate Control Corp.
Numerous defendants have not yet settled the auto parts litigation, and there is no guarantee that they will settle in the future. Trial dates have not yet been set. A list of the non-settling defendants is available here.

What's the TLDR; and outcome of this?

Does this effect dealers and their massive prices?

TLDR; Price gouging is real, and there is a lawsuit for people that bought vehicles and auto parts from 1996-2016.

The link at the very top allows you to check your year, make, & model to see if you have grounds to file a claim.

Regarding dealers...your guess is as good as mine.

Congratulations! Your vehicle is included in the following auto parts cases:

In re: Radiators
In re: Fan Motors
In re: Power Window Motors
In re: Windshield Washer Systems*
* Class Counsel believe, based on the information available to them, that your vehicle was targeted by one or more Defendants in this case and you are therefore eligible to receive a larger settlement award from the settlements relating to this case.

Meh. What about TT kits?
