Default Want pics of Nav in action

I didn't order the Navi, but I wish that I had. What am I missing? Could somebody post some pics of their Nav at work? I'm curious as to what the "bird's eye" view Nissan keeps talking about is.

How different is this system from an aftermarket system, ie. Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood?

If you think about it, all nav systems are very similar, they require a screen, DVD drive, antennae, GPS receiver, gyro, and some other data gathering equipment. It SHOULD be possible to install a Nissan one after the car has been delivered.

I'm looking at the Kenwood system now...it has a stand alone touchscreen, but I'm not sure it'll fit in the dash.

Hey Andrew...

NAVs are really cool... but cost a hell of a lot. I guess going aftermarket gives one more options. Good luck on your search.

Hey... when am I getting my Z ride??? I'm free Sat afternoon??

Sorry guys, I am very new here. My 2000 Integra GSR just got stolen this morning =/ So I am looking into the 350Z. A navi is a huge thing for me and I was curious how hard/difficult it is to install an OEM navi into a Z that didn't come with one. I searched and there are just so many irrelevant navi threads.

Thanks in advance

Resurected from the deep. Nice. Good Searching.

Well I personally don't get the point of Nav. I know where I am going most of the time, and if not.... directions are easy to follow. I would put the $1200 + toward my turbo, or something under the hood. If I was going to drive the Z and travel all the time THEN I would get the Nav. Its not a motor home.
Just my opinion.

This thing is perfect for long trips or when your in a city where you have no idea where your going, even has places to eat, sleep, ect, nearest gas station, when your oil change is due, address book, and many more.

I like it, but def. not worth the $2K.

You know I thought I would never use it but it comes in handy let me tell you. The restaurant and atm finding is the greatest plus the maintenance schedule. Plus the birds eye view does look great!

I like the OEM NAV just because I prefer the OEM look to something that is obviously after-market.

Yes, as a newbie to the 350Z and coming from Honda's and Acura's (GSR JUST got stolen yesterday), I know better and searched before asking such questions.

I am looking into a used low mileage 350z and I personally like the navi system in my friends BMW.

So did anyone answer my question? =)

I am looking into the mp3car.com website craniumdesigns so thanks for that. But I like OEM for the sake of being OEM. I have "aftermarketed" my last car and thieves are just horrible.

So anyone who knows about installing the navi or have done so, let me know. I think I might start a new thread since the title is misleading to my question. Thanks again.
