Default Official 370Z specs, with links & new pics - the real thing - 11.15.08

I found the motherload. The links below contain official 370z specs. As far as I can tell, this is new, unreleased information -- It says for release "November 19, 2008" Here are some nuggets I picked out, but the full details are in the links below. Happy holidays

NOTE: You might want to make COPIES of these, in case Nissan takes them down!

There are only two trims now -- "370Z" and "370Z Touring".

Then there are two available packages:
- "Sport package", which gets you the SynchoRev, and better brakes (see below), VLSD, aero package, 19-inch wheels,
- "Navigation", which gets you nav system w/ real-time traffic, iPod interface, 9.3GB music box hard drive

Wheelbase: 100.4 inches
Curb weight:
- MT - 370Z - 3232 lbs, 370Z Touring - 3278 lbs
- AT - 370Z - 3269 lbs, 370Z Touring - 3314 lbs

Horsepower: 332 max, torque: 270 lb-ft
Brakes: The sport package gets you: 14-inch 4-piston front, 13.8-inch rear, 2-piston.
Coefficient of drag (front): 0.29 (sport package)
Weight distribution % F/R: 54 / 46 (wtf!)
Nice looking suspension improvements -- lighter suspension components, etc

hahahaha. This is a huge fail by massive proportions. I had a feeling this smaller Z would weigh the same or more than the 03-05's. I thought the wheelbase was under 100in?

scrutinized. For example, fuel tank weight was reduced by 13.9 pounds, the exhaust
system by 3.8 pounds, the audio system by 3.5 pounds and the 19-inch wheels by
approximately seven pounds each for the fronts and six pounds for the rears – an
estimated 225 pounds total.
Along with the reduced weight, the center of gravity was lowered through use of a
lower engine positioning (-0.6 inches) and lower driver hip point (-0.4 inches).
Rotating mass was reduced with a shorter carbon-fiber composite driveshaft. All of
these weight savings were needed, of course, to counter the added weight of the
Z®’s enhanced body structure and new technology and safety features. The net
weight reduction is 95 pounds for the 2009 Nissan 370Z over the comparable 350Z
Enthusiast model.
so they save 95lbs in the end compared to the current model..not bad considering all the stuff they added

only way they saved weight was by making the 350Z heavy over the years, this 370Z is heavier than my 350Z

Per Nissan specs in 2002 the 2003 350Z weighed as follows:

Base 3,188
Enth 3,197/3,210
Perf 3,217
Track 3,225
Tour 5AT 3,239
Tour 6MT 3,247

In the 370z's defense the weight quoted above is for the Touring model which does have 19" wheels I believe. So if you compare it the 03 Touring model which was fitted with 18" wheels, smaller brakes, a lighter engine (I'm just assuming they used a heavier crank to increase displacement on the 370) and probably less sound deadening material it is lighter for what you are getting.

sorry the 350Z has a 20 gallon tank while the 370Z has a 19 gallon tank

besides I believe those are dry weights, but either way not fuel

lets face it Nissan didn't deliver in the weight department
