Default What's your thoughts on the 370z?

As a proud owner of a 2007 350ZR, and mutual fan of the 350Z coupes, I am not feeling the look of the 370Z. Having owned a 240Z back in the 70s, I don't care for the return to the past look. The headlights and tail-lights, remove the cars power look and give it a toy look.

Just wondering if I am the only person with this feeling? Contemplating, the Porche Boxster as a replacement for my 2007 Z.

I had an 07 with the HR, and I have the 370
I am very happy with my decision, and there is that much of a difference in the car.
Though I have the sport package....

I am VERY happy with it I say test drive them both then make a decision

370 FTW, I had 2 350's and now I have a 370 and love it. Better in almost every way. The small pillar windows are not functional at all, and I would rather have a digi speedo than a clock in the triple cluster. The interior is a huge improvement imo, and speed wise no comparo and I did drive an HR before I drove the 370 I bought. I figured I wouldnt mod it too much so I might as well get the new one. I was wrong. Again.

I'd buy the 370z only if it came with an HR

but seriously, the only model I would consider would be the NISMO 370z, going from a NISMO 350z to a standard 370z just isn't worth it imo.

The 370Z is a work of art. I read somewhere that the designer tried to make it look like a shark, and it seems like he did a good job. My only problem is that I have a 350Z almost paid off, so the prospect of going out and getting a $30,000.00 car (and the payment to go along with it) tells me my fun money will be tied up for another few years. Right now I have to ability to mod my 350Z however I want. The newness of the 370Z would wear off in about a year, then the mod bug would bite, and I would be SCREWED. Ill stick with my 350Z for now.

Default 370Z Test Drive

I sold my 08 350Z Touring, 6 speed for no good reason other than I like new cars. The 350Z was a good car other than the transmission which was very notchy into second and with the clutch out it sounded like a can of nails rolling around. I had a Nismo exhaust and it sounded pretty good. Well today I test drove a 370z with revmatch and I was impressed. It appeared to have more power throughout the range, shifted smoothly in every gear and the ride was considerably smoother than the 350 with no penalty in handling through the corners. The 370 road/tire noise is loud and the stock exhaust sucks, it is far more quiet than the stock 350Z. I was on the freeway at about 95MPH and it felt like 60 with lots of road noise, the price you pay for a world class sports car.

Earlier today I test drove two 2010 Mustang GT's. The Mustang is a different animal but other than a great exhaust sound and a more spacious interior, the shifter, the handling and the overall feeling of quality couldn't hold a candle to the Z. The steering wheel on both Mustangs shook about 3 degrees in each direction at any speed above 60MPH. The Z's steering was as solid as any car I have driven at any speed up to 95 which was as fast as I could go with traffic. I will reserve my final judgement and purchase until I drive a Mustang with the track pack option which includes the GT 500 suspension and better tires etc. Similarly equipped they are about the same $'s so it should be fun.

By the way I drove a new Porche cayman recently and enjoyed the 370Z much more. Also drove the new Z4 hardtop convert and was impressed. The major problem and deal buster for me was that the Z4 (and the Cayman) DO NOT have dipsticks to check the oil. You rely on a $50 idiot light to protect a $15K motor, no thanks, I guess I'm old fashion, I like to check my own oil. Man do I love cars, I probably drive the salespeople crazy but that's half the fun. Drive Safe.

I voted "Thumbs Up" because of the overall better performance. I've seen them in person and they look a lot more agressive with more road presence than the 350z. Unfortunately, I just don't like the way they look.

as with the 350z the looks have taken awhile to grow on me. when I first saw pics the only thing I liked was the rear. But now that I've seen one in person and many MANY more pics I am begining to appreciate the looks, even the headlights (though not soo much). Performance wise I've been jazzed (lol) since I heard they were making it more powerful AND lighter! When was the last time that you heard of the next gen car being lighter then the old one. That just dosn't happen anymore. Overall I think Nissan hit this one out of the park. They really did a solid out the for the fans of the Z series by adressing all the complaints about the 350 Nissan is good to us! The 350z was already the king of the affordable sports car but now with this car there really isn't any competeition and the only reason to buy an s2k (is being discontinued) or rx8 is simply brand loyalty.

I sometimes wish I would have gotten the 370Z instead of the 350Z in January. The 370Z is just kicking ass in BS right now in autocross for my region.
