Nissan green lights "mini Z"
TLDR: In house named "mini Z" NOT a silvia or 240sx replacement. 190HP est. 1.6l turbo 4.. FWD (poop) but AWD option (yay) basically nissan Juke guts. Aiming at FRS/BRZ and for around 10% less in price (sub 22k).
Nissan saying it should be close in size to the honda CRZ

Sick of all these teenager cars. I was done driving 4-banger hotwheels like the BRZ, FRS, STI, and any other car with a 3-letter capital name when I graduated college.
I want a turbo 6 and an AWD 4-door variant.

Definitely interesting. I would test drive the AWD version. Power can be made from Turbo 4-bangers.
Edit. I did a google Image search, to see if they had any different angles...
I would NOT be test driving that... that would be like my friends old 200SX

I get that people think 4 cyl with turbos are the next big thing. They're cheaper and get good gas mileage. I'm all for that. But slap that thing i the Juke and give me a new Z.

That's not the point. I want a new 300ZX, not some 4-banger kids can crash into lamp posts o Thanksgiving.

"mini-Z" - 200hp sports coupe (20-25k)
370Z - 300hp sports car (33-43k)
GTR - 500hp super car (95k+)
A twin turbo V6 car to fill the gap just isn't feasible. Do you steal sales from Z and the GTR? All the R&D that goes into making a 60-75k sports car just defeats the point.

20-30k for some of these is a relatively good bang for buck. I have no problem with 4 "bangers", nor do I have a problem with 3-letter model names.... cough... evo.... cough.... 534.6 awhp..... cough stock motor.... cough.... insanely fun car for this 33 yr old

and you will be paying 50+ grand for such a car.

The Evo and Sti are fun, but I don't want a sedan and they sound like an elephant had a bad burrito. I'm very picky about my cars.

There is no "official" name for it out yet. Thats just what the name they use to refer to it inside nissan, supposedly.. at this time until it gets its own brand.
In regards to that ugly small hatch that someone linked. If you read the motor trend article I linked in the OP
So it shouldnt look like that. It most likely wont even look like the coupe pic I bet.

Plans for such a car were first revealed at last year's Shanghai auto show in the form of the Compact Sports Concept. As you can see in this rendering that depicts what the car may turn out to be, it has morphed from a sporty hatch into an aggressive coupe.

f*cking this! I had to pass on the AWD option on my juke because I wanted a true manual. If they offer this with AWD 6spd, it could put a smile on my face. I like the looks of it in the first post, if it actually looks like that at release, it could be coo. Power can be had out of a turbo 4cyl. It may not be TT-Z status, but it could be a fun quick DD.
