Wannabe 370Z Nismo
So I know this guy who bought a 2009 370Z last August. He bought it with the Nismo lip kit and Nismo exhaust. When he first bought it, he swore up and down that it was a REAL 370Z Nismo.
As of now the car has:
- 2008 350Z Nismo wheels
- Straight-piped Nismo exhaust
- Nismo badge on the front grill
- Crooked Nismo badge on the rear bumper
- Nismo floor mats
- Last but not least, he wears his Nismo hoodie to the meets on the weekends.
IMO, I know it's not a Nismo. I'm pretty sure it's just a Base 370Z. He has heated and powered leather/suede seats.
Thoughts of what trim level this ACTUALLY is?

Sadly no. He had an old Sentra before this Z. He did a VVL swap in the Sentra. I raced him in my 2006 350Z Grand Touring when I had it, and he swore up and down that he beat me, lmao. I pulled on him so easy. He wrecked that Sentra though. He barely got the loan to finance this 370Z.

Considering it has heated and powered leather/suede seats (available on Touring package), and the lack of having the Nissan Sport brakes (which is standard on the Sport Package/Nismo models), it's not a Nismo.

Now we are getting somewhere. I don't really know the trim levels of the 370Z but I definitely knew it wasn't what he claimed it was. I'm going to put him in check next time I see him. His ego is HUGE. It's hilarious, lol. I like all Z's but it's just riced out.

Unique to the Nismo, the interior includes Nismo logo seats with black and red fabric and red stitching, a Nismo tachometer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching, a leather-wrapped shift **** and aluminum trimmed pedals. A serialized plaque of authenticity is also matched to each Nismo Z, identifying its unique serial and model year designation (ex. Z34 09 0123).
I'm sure he's missing everything above.

I wonder if he did his research before buying the car -- does he know the trim levels of the Z, or does he really believe he bought a Nismo? I hope he didn't get screwed on the price because the seller listed it as a Nismo. Regardless, he might want to educate himself on the different trim levels.

I can never understand why people try to pass things off for what they are not. Sure, you'll probably convince people who don't know any better and as such don't care anyway, and anybody that gives a damn will know you're lying. What's the point?
Take away all the lying and it's a nice car on it's own. Don't try to make it into something it's not and degrade the car and yourself.
