worth an alignment check? 16k on tires, all 4 wear more on outside
I searched a little bit and seemed like 370z (and 350z) tires would wear more on the outside than the inside despite the -ve factory camber settings. My prev car did the exact opposite which made sense to me.
I just got this new used 2011 370z with 16k having this wearing pattern. I plan on getting an alignment check on it. Any other things I should know?
thanks.

The RE050A is non-directional but asymmetric. On all four tires, they all have a red dot on the outside sidewall. I don't know whether the red dot should be on the outside or on the inside.
I can visually see the -ve camber on the tires so I don't think it is a camber issue. I took it to a shop, and they said it is possible that the previous owner drove the car "aggressively" or cornered hard.

You have only excessive but even wear on the outside or you also notice uneven wear like feathering?
If you only have excessive (but even along the tire circle) wear on the outer side I don't think it's about camber but about toe settings.
You probably have too much toe in (positive toe). Check your alignment, it's the first thing to do in such cases.
If you have uneven wear (feathering) it is more complex. That is related to a cumulus of causes like suspension design, stiffness of the bushings, wearing in suspension elements.

May be an alignment issue or just the way the previous owner drove the car. The stock 370Z tires usually last up to 16-18,000 miles before they need to be replaced on every-day driving. I had 11,800 miles on my 2012 370Z Sport Touring and still had the factory tires with 90% tread left before I sold it (I didn't drive aggressively and it was pretty much a weekend car).

If you want tires to last a long time you have to go a size larger which gives you a higher load rating. This leads to a little less traction and speedo a little off if you can put up with that. Or you can go with a original size but a lower traction rating like utog 300 -400 where as re050's are only utog 120's.
