I'd be happy with a "radio prep" package like your dad had offered to him when it took that Delco. A radio prep package means that they install the antenna and run the wires (already in the stock wire harness). I would have used that $1200-$1800 that I paid for the Bose junk for a down payment on some real gear. I don't think I put an hour's worth of use on that stock radio.

I can say that most high line cars sound way better. It acts weird also when you get a phone call it defaults to the Nav system screen for some reason WTF I? Sound quality mediocre but has good base for what that worth. After you turn off the car and restart it starts with an entirely different display than the one you regularly use WTF II? Another annoying thing is it shuts down when you turn off the engine. Even a Chevy leaves the radio on till you open the door to leave the car WTF III
