Default Seeking Insights on Nissan GTR Repair Costs – Any Experiences or Estimates?

Hi all, I’ve been taking into consideration for months about buying a 2009 Nissan GTR. I’ve been listening to horror testimonies about the engine and gearbox going kaput.
Anyone right here is aware of how a lot it would price to get a company new gearbox ? Are they absolutely that fragile ?
What are the expenses of rebuilding the engine ?
Not certain if this is the proper vicinity to put up this. I hope anyone can help.

The R35 is an exotic, pure and simple. As such, items like a new AWD gearbox, or VR30DTT will be hugely expensive and likely to cost close to the purchase price of a used GT-R. For more detailed information on gearbox fragility or engine rebuilding, try one of the GT-R specific sites, particularly in the UK. But no matter where you live, you gotta pay to play certainly applies to exotic cars.

dkmura isn't kidding. An OEM *new* transaxle is right around $20k. Most of the GTR guys I know/know of rebuild/upgrade at time of need. Top notch rebuilders (like ShepTrans) can upgrade the transaxle at time of rebuild but expect average costs to be in the $10k+ range. (And up to $40k, no joke, for the top end unit build for extreme power output) There are guys around that do basic rebuilds at much lower cost but still figure on at least $5-7k.

While it does sound like a dick thing to say, it's true. I researched it for one night and after that, I knew it's not for me. The GTR will NEVER be the Z, it's not one of those, the price ain't so bad now that it's old cars. Those parts will not go down in price, they will go up.
Just maintenance, 20 qts of DCT fluid ($80+ per) every year or two, $2k in tires every 2 years, brakes are also very expensive, etc.
