In market for a new sport car
Hi guys, I am finally back after several years and now ready for a new sport car. I still have my 350z roadster 540 HP tuned by GTM but now in a market for a new sport car.
Here are my choices and really don't know which one to pick. I like the looks of the Porsche but for the same $$$$ I can get a brand new GTR and the Viper is 3rd on the list. Did any one here have the same decisions as me and what did you end up with and why ?
1. New GTR
2. Used Porsche 911 turbo
3. New Dodge Viper.
Thank you
Tom

I'd go for the new GTR.Ironically,I've been looking at the GTR
this past year.Still can't warm up to the styling.Looks wise,
the Porsche.Since your present car has some serious power
mods it would seem you are heading in that direction. If it were me,
I'd buy a used GTR...like a 010-011,low miles,well kept.Spend
the money I saved from buying a new one on getting the car
"upgraded" to 600-700 hp.Maybe cost you another 25k.But you
got something special. Also, buying a used Porsche can be a
crap shoot.Parts are unbelievably expensive.

I was in the same boat but looking at all used trying to keep under $65k including taxes. Here's what my decisions on those cars ended up being:
GTR - Looks: mehh, Sound: mehh, Performance: unbelievable!
Porsche 996 TT - Looks: pretty good definitely noticeable, Sound: stock mehh, Performance: decent but modding for power seems to cost an arm and a leg like a much newer higher performing GTR.
Viper - could never get past how it looks like d*ck and ball sack lol
I drove the Porsche and just wasn't very impressed and hated the clutch release, my stock block TT Z seemed to pull harder. I drove a bone stock GTR and really liked the transmission, then I drove BlackbirdCPV35's full bolt on E85 GTR and was blown away with how fast it was. I bought an 09 with just a mid pipe to make sound soooo much better, and a Cobb access port with a tune already on it which really livened the car up. Just those two mods can be done for under $2,500 and puts the car how it should've come from the factory.
If you have a bigger budget I would look into buying a used 2012 or 2013 and save yourself the money from the sticker cost. Good luck and check out the GTR for sale section on GTRlife.com, there's a few 12's up for sale on there.

I sure like the Honda S2000 and the Nissan 350Z, you might drive the Mazda xr8 too. I don't thing you could go wrong on any of these cars but I know you said no American car but have you driven a Mustang. They come in all varieties and are fast. Lots and lots of add ons if you want and you cant beat the style of a GT. Drive all 4 and see which one you like.

i would figure C6 Z06 would be on the list. Awsome car, to bad it looks like the common vette that is seen everywhere on the road.
