Tire roar, my solution
I sold my ZR (just kidding)
About 4k miles ago I replaced the almost perfect Bridgestone tires (after having them rotated twice) with Avon ZZ3 tires and now I'm in love again with my ZR. Absolutely no tire roar at all, tires look much better, they are about 1 inch wider (same dimension stamp) and they are reasonably priced, about half the price of Goodyear or Pirelli of the same size.
Avon is Aston Martin's OEM supplier.
This worked for the 17 inch wheels on my 09/2003 Enthusiast ZR (225/50 R 17 W front, 235/50 R 17 W rear). 'W' means good for speeds up to 300 km/h / 190 mph, that should be sufficient.
I wonder whether this brand is on the market in the US, but if it is, give it a try. No, Avon is not paying me any money.
BTW do you all follow that Bridgestone is making Ferrari look terribly bad in Formula 1 racing ? They use probably also RE40s.

I did!!!
I've posted messages on this site praising my Z for all it was worth. I have enjoyed the information and have used it in my dealings with the dealership. I put my Z in for it's 17,500 mile check up with the following complaints. 1. Terrible tire roar at 22-25 MPH. Third gear had always been touch and go on shifting with a grind. This had become much worse. The called me and said they would replace the tires because I had ionformed them upon buying my Z of the concerns I had on the feathering problem encountered by many on this web site. The transmission was another story. The wanted to replace it. Stating they had never had a transmission problem with the Z. I immediately steered them to this web sit with several mentions of grinding while shifting into third gear. I told them I did not want the car back and if they wanted to restore my faith in Nissan I needed a good deal. I am currently driving a 2005 Pathfinder and so far I am very happy with it's performance. The fuel efficiency is a little hard to swallow compared to the Z
