Default Help with metal bars surrounding rear window. (NEW TOP INSTALLATION))

I just installed the robbins top. MUCH BETTER THA OEM. Actual cloth.

With the 2 metal wire bars on both sides of the rear window. On the factory top, does this metal bar hook to the other side of the the cloth? I.E. the metal bar is inside the cloth, but does it go through to the top open end of the cloth so that it can hook onto it?

I CANNOT RECALL with my life if it does or not. If any one can chime in that knows for sure. PLEASE DO.

By the way. I ordered from topsonline - but they ordered from someone else. They are just the middlemen. I know because there supplier shipped straight to me. And they are Vic's Upholstery in CA.

Someone please answer. THANK YOU!!!

Just a suggestion. Put a subject in the subject line like

Squeaking brakes

instead of

Help

Need help immediately

or

If you don't help right away I will die!

I'd like to help and am interested to know how your non-OEM top works out, but I don't understand the question.
Is it something I can look at, without taking it apart, or maybe photograph for you?
Or, can you post a picture to explain the question?

I just installed my Robbins top last week. Those two wire metal bars slide into some pockets located on either side of the window. They are there to support the window when the top is raised or lowered. Those pockets also have a hole for the defroster wire to run through. I would suggest doing a search for the instructions on this forum. The guy who made them did a very detailed install with alot of pics to show every step.
