Default Top Light still on when I pop top down

Im looking at a 05 ZR im thinking about getting, When i put the top down it appears to do so fine when at the final stage where the back lid covers over the top i dont think its fully shutting all the way. It appears to be latched closed (I think) but the light on the dash sayin the top is still open stays on. Should i be concerned about this? because i know nissan absolutely does not cover anything for the ZR tops so im told?.. Thanks in advanced

It sounds like the tonneau cover is not latching down like it is supposed to, I had a similar problem with my 04. It was repaired under warranty.

If the car is still under the original manufacturer's warranty, and you properly transfer the ownership with Nissan (independent of the transfer of title with the DMV), I don't see why it would not be covered.
