Valuation of a 05 ZR I'm thinking of buying
Hey Guys,
New to the forum but not to Nissan. Have owned a '89 HB Pick Up, '95 S14 5 Speed, and an '03 Sentra SE-R Spec V. I'm currently in talks with a gentleman selling a 2005 ZR 6 Speed. Its black/black with 56k miles, no accidents, looking fairly clean inside and out, claims to have dealer service records, and is a local vehicle. I'm in Westcoast Canada but I've negotiated the price to approx $12,600USD (based on today's exchange). Am I paying fair market value or am I getting a deal? I find prices are all over the place, especially if you factor in coupes and convertibles.
Thoughts?
Hopefully joining this family soon, it would be my first convertible!
Cheers

Hey man, I work at Pat Peck Nissan in Sales. I believe that is a good deal. But for the year... since it JUST became 2014. its almost 10 years old.. What are the equipment factors? leather? heated seats? bose? i say 11,500 is a better deal if you can get there.

Just for example... My 350ZR is a 2004. I purchased it in feb 2013 with 18,787 miles on it. I walked O.T.D. at 14,000 dollars. Its blaack on black. Touring. So its loaded with EVERY option available at that time except navi.

Happy to say I brought home the car yesterday. Top down, even in the 0 degree temp!
It is fully optioned save for navigation as far as I can tell. In Canada I believe all roadsters were essentially loaded. The price is quite good for the Pacific Northwest, I find the prices get better the further south and east one looks. However I prefer to find a local car at a very reasonable number. Based on today's exchange rate this worked out to $12,175 USD.
So far I'm really liking the overall ride, handling, power, and fun factor of being able to drop the top. The gearbox is awesome as well. It does need a good detail, when it warms up a bit it will be fully polished back out, and a thorough interior clean.
Looking to do some small mods, tint the windows, maybe a shiftboot, etc. Any must have smaller mods? I see the shorty antennae is a popular one.

Wow, that is quite low mileage. I believe we have near identical cars, options wise. I have heated leather, Bose, HID lighting, etc. I was a bit leary of the 03-04 cars for their reported tire feathering issues, hence why I was looking for a later model. Oh and around here $11,500 would be impossible. Most roadsters at dealers are 17-25k.

Very Nice...Great price and mileage on the ZR.
Looks like my twin, '06 Black on Black, 69k, dd. Mine has not been in the shop at all since I bought it 10/11. Only probs have been passenger window motor stopped,(fixed myself with forum search for free) and heater "burp" (same).

Thanks guys. JHC, looks great! I'm kicking around buying some smoked reflectors for the front bumper. Already have ordered some white LEDs for licence plate/city lights, alcantara shift and ebrake boot. Probably a light tint on the front windows is in order as well.
