The Convertible Rule
Top down, windows down? What's your guys' take on the so called Convertible Rule? Who rolls with the top down and side windows up? I just recently picked up my 05 ZR and it was hovering around the freezing mark, so at highway speed I was violating the sh*t out of the convertible rule.
Thoughts? Lets keep this one light, guys.
Cheers!

I don't have a ZR, but I do have 3 Alfa Romeo Spider's. 95% of the time the cars are driven with the top down, and 95% of those times the windows are down, too. On rare occasions, I do enjoy top down, windows up, heater on max, if it's a cold day here in FL. Never heard of any "rule", though.

Top down window down ALWAYS. Except at highway speeds beyond 50 mph. I don't like it when I can't hear my music because the wind is beating in my ear drums. So I roll the windows up and slump down in my seat. Also it prevents my hair from getting razzled... I like to stay gorgeous for the ladies I may encounter at stop lights.

Best way to have sex in the ZR is to roll the top down. More room for activities and you can see the stars at the same time. Plus your windows wont fog or get hot.... Convertible rule #69.

My top hasn't been up in over a year. I drive top down only and might be removing the top from the car altogether to save some weight. I can drive all the way down to 40 degrees if the windows are left up. If I'm going far or fast I roll up the windows, much smoother and quieter. Who cares about rules when you have a car that only seats two and has a useless trunk?

No Rules,
In GA I've had the top down @ 37F, sometimes wind/truck noise is pretty bad on the highway so windows up then. Of course if the wife wants to have a 'serious' conversation I have to use my best judgement and enjoy the ride. Always comes full circle.
When will I learn?...never!

When I roll with the top down windows up it is not for the look.
High speed noise and wind turbulence reduction, or to stay warm, are the only reason I will do it.

If the top is down, windows are down, unless I'm going quick, or if the temp is a little chilly. Windows up cuts out tons of wind while cruising at speed.

Glad I could liven up the roadster section with this topic. These days when Im commuting at 70MPH+ I have the windows up with top down. Anytime Im in a 50MPH or less zone I keep the windows down. The look is definitely best with windows down but I don't know if I agree that top down windows up is worse looking than having the top up.
Cheers
